Such a relief for all of us especially for our children who would have been saddled with our debt under Corbyn’s plan

That is a simplistic view of economics that doesn’t work when it comes to the economy of a country. Austerity slows down and halts growth. If you have enough growth you can pay your debts down. When labour spent before they had a very low deficit in real terms because they were growing the economy. Look at it simply if you need more money you can either cut back on everything or you can try and earn more money.

You must be able to see how cutting makes things worse- e.g. cutting public sector workers just means that they become unemployed which means they can’t spend and contribute to the economy, if they can’t get another job they may end up on benefits - so now you have to pay them benefits and get no work from them in return. The high street starts to fail because nobody can afford to buy from them so they then have to cut staff and so it continues. The myth that we have record numbers of employment is that so much of it is on zero hours contracts where people are unable to have security of income which again affects the economy. We have record numbers of people in work relying on foodbanks whilst the richest have become richer. The Tories are rich, they are hobbyist politicians trying to keep the largest slices of cake to themselves, they don’t want to pay for the NHS and education because most of them don’t use it- they’re private as much as possible. What’s good for them and what’s good for everyone else isn’t the same, and they are not in the job because of some kind of charitable calling where they want to improve the lives of those who aren’t as well off as they are! As a point of comparison in Scotland our economy is outperforming the rest of the UK in terms of growth and part of that is down to investing and trying to minimise the effects of austerity.

YABU, but I'm well aware that as a disabled person, I'm less than human to people like you.

YABU, but I'm well aware that as a disabled person, I'm less than human to people like you.

How pathetic. I have a severe physical disability but fortunately am still capable of critical thought which leads me to realise that the Conservatives are the only viable party if we don't want this country fucked up for generations to come by the Labour Party.

mummmy2017 · 28/11/2019 15:53

If Labour were to win, their spending plans mean massive tax rises, hitting working class, they have agreed this is true.
The WASP no idea how to fund this.
Students, bet they would back track.
The people who earn over £80k will leave the country.
Untilities Companys are registering the companies abroad, so full share price will have to be paid, more cost.

KidLorneRoll · 28/11/2019 15:55

...All of which is fucking nothing compared to what Boris's Brexit will do.

Even if that list of yours was true. Which it isn't.

Trooperslaneagain · 28/11/2019 15:55

YAVMU

God help us.

BoJo will have us in Trump disaster zone before you know it. Arse wipe.

Hingeandbracket · 28/11/2019 15:55

Austerity only came about as the labour government spent too much and didn’t save for a crisis.
Overly simplistic utter bullshit

dontalltalkatonce · 28/11/2019 16:06

YABU.

ANewUsername · 28/11/2019 16:14

Always the lies about tories being better with the economy:

Flimflamfloogety · 28/11/2019 16:14

YANBU - fingers crossed for a Tory win

mummmy2017 · 28/11/2019 16:15

So Utility Company's are not make my bed to stop their Companys being stolen?

John1971 · 28/11/2019 16:22

Opinion polls have historically been very inaccurate, for example in 2015.
Will you be glad when the NHS is sold to American multi national companies?

mummmy2017 · 28/11/2019 16:24

Considering MPs run too courts I am sure we will have a new .. you can't do that order before very long.

Whattodoabout · 28/11/2019 16:25

YABU but I don’t believe the polls anyway, remain was going to win according to the polls.

Bojo is a racist wanker.

JOBrien333 · 28/11/2019 16:26

@mummmy2017

I agree!

JOBrien333 · 28/11/2019 16:28

I think the conservatives have a lot support more than Corbyn who will bankrupt the country with all his overspending.

Musmerian · 28/11/2019 16:30

Not quite sure which country or planet you are currently living in/on. Child poverty is at its highest rate for the years, the inequality gap is widening all the time and social mobility is stifled. You must be hugely selfish if that’s your viewpoint.

SheOfManyNames · 28/11/2019 16:35

YABU but I don’t believe the polls anyway, remain was going to win according to the polls.
It could easily have gone either way, within the margin of error.
This latest poll was the only one to predict 2017, and was discounted because it was an outlier. Much as I hate to admit it, it looks like a fucking Tory majority. I'm fucking angry at labour. They should be mopping up votes, Blair 1997 styleee but lack leadership at the top.

PineappleDanish · 28/11/2019 16:36

I think the saddest thing is that Labour have the best situation for years and have chucked it away with a lurch to the left.

Had they had a moderate, centrist leader who had tackled Boris and the rest of them years back, we wouldn't be here.

It's even sadder how blinkered Labour diehards are and just can't see how for so many of us floating voters, Corbyn/McDonnell/Abbot are totally unelectable.

mummmy2017 · 28/11/2019 16:38

Yes the polls seem show the unelectables as being a view both sides hold, hence the spoil your vote thing.
People will head too the polls, and decide on the day, but Corbyn worries many people and will be reflected in the swing vote.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 28/11/2019 16:44

So the question for me is WTF have they done with our money?

Given it to their rich friends.

mummmy2017 · 28/11/2019 16:49

Maybe the growing OAPs of the UK are costing money to look after.

billysboy · 28/11/2019 16:51

Corbyn/McDonnell/Abbot are totally unelectable

This !!

PineappleDanish · 28/11/2019 17:01

We should be talking about a Labour landslide. We should be wondering how much of a kicking the Tories are going to get because even the truest bluest Tory has to admit that Brexit has been one fuck up after the other.

But we're not. Because even though Labour has been given a completely open goal and the best circumstances in which to form a government in years, they have failed on every account. And that's down to Jeremy Corbyn and his hard left leadership. All the decent moderates have left the party or have decided not to stand for reelection. Labour is splintering and is incapable of providing a strong opposition. Other parties aren't big enough to challenge the COnservatives effectively.

In any parliamentary system there MUST be a strong opposition to hold the government to account and challenge them. We are not getting that at the moment. So of course the Conservatives will win. It's like Liverpool playing a Sunday league team. Foregone conclusion.
