Such a relief for all of us especially for our children who would have been saddled with our debt under Corbyn’s plan

You do realize the more you use words such as racism, facism, et al in such an off-hand manner towards those that aren't really racist nor facsist you are minimizing actual Racism and Facism?

Save those strong words for the tiny minority who do that think that way, when you actually do come across them. It might be overtly ridiculous to use these words as simple offensiveness but minimizing Racism and Facism to just a little internetty spitefulness is actually counter-productive.

areyouawarem8 · 28/11/2019 20:18

@MintChocAddict, you seriously need help if you think Boris Johnson and Donald Trump are fascists lmao

Lay off Twitter for a while

InfiniteCurve · 28/11/2019 20:19

If the conservatives are so ace at running the country why is it in the state it's in?
And why is no-one asking them with regard to every "promise" - more teachers, more doctors, more police why we should believe a word of it,they've been in power for long enough after all so why hasn't all this been done already?
Don't bother telling me - it's the last labour government's fault, tories have been trying so hard to fix things all these years....
Either they aren't trying very hard or they are not very good at it imo...

Disagree I'm afraid. Anyone who supports Boris Johnson despite his history of racist comments should be called out.
See also Donald Trump and his forced separation of children from their parents at borders. See also Nigel Farage and his history of support from English nationalist fascists.

They are what they are and deserve to be labelled as such.

You missed out Nigel. You know Boris and Donald's pal.

Its a Daily Mail bot incapable of free thought

LapisJewel · 28/11/2019 20:29

YABU.
if you care about the environment, education, NHS, disabled people, mental health, animal welfare, workers rights, stopping arms sales to brutal regimes, the Union, stopping a disaster Brexit, unbiased medical research, or indeed the truth, you must vote Labour. (Or at least not the Tories!).

TheGirlFromStoryville · 28/11/2019 20:34

Delighted with the poll findings last night. Despite all the 'freebies' on offer from Labour it appears that people are not convinced.
No time for complacency though. Make sure you vote!

Daisychainsandglitter · 28/11/2019 20:37

YABVVU!!!

ChalkieWhite · 28/11/2019 20:39

How could anyone vote for a party (Labour) that offers a £58 billion election bribe (cheques are in the post luv) - but don't put that massive commitment in their manifesto ? Why would you omit that ? Stupidity ? Then lie that anyone earning under £80K will 'not pay more tax'; whilst ending 'married person's allowance'.

beautifulstranger101 · 28/11/2019 20:43

I work closely with the NHS- it has suffered terribly under the Tory government. May as well say goodbye to it now if they get in- they've already privatised off many parts of it (my friend who is an OT now works for virgin even though she is part of the NHS) and those companies have reduced staff to maximise profits, thus meaning 2 staff now have the work of what should have been 4. The NHS has recorded its WORST ever performance for A&E in years. Not only A&E, but waiting times are the highest they've ever been and we are at crisis point now.

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 28/11/2019 20:44

Ugh. This whole thread is vile. YABVVVU.

RoRosmama · 28/11/2019 20:47

@Craft74 couldn't agree with you more. Labourites make me laugh. Corbyn is an utter joke.

TheABC · 28/11/2019 20:49

Congratulations. It's good to hear you will not need the NHS, schools or social care in the near future.

National debt has risen by a trillion pounds with the Tories in power. I dread to think how much more Brexit will add to that burden.

HateIsNotGood · 28/11/2019 20:51

just my experience MintyChocposter yours might be different. I just think that people should stop and think a bit before they ascribe these very serious words towards the wrong directions.

We all know the Fable of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

ivykaty44 · 28/11/2019 20:53

9 years the Tory party have had to prove their worth - so why are they now stating they’ll going to do this and that - why didn’t they already?

Reminds me of this:

Someone else who doesn't understand deficit v debt and no doubt parroted the 'should not be treated as household debt' or even shared the pints in a pub meme.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 28/11/2019 21:03

I'll just leave this here.

To be glad the latest polls are saying the tories will get a good majority
Justanotherlurker · 28/11/2019 21:04

Do you understand globalistation and what they inherited after the global financial crash?

Considering you have spent the last 3 years talking about GDP and the subtle points of economics whilst posting articles that point to multinationals and big banks saying how brexit is a nightmare then I am sure you can see the nuanced argument.

Trying to go down the partisan route now is just some political activism disguised as faux innocence.

cardibach · 28/11/2019 21:08

Everybody sounding off about Labour’s spending plans being unworkable, extreme, spend, spend, spend... Are you aware where they sit in terms of costs compared with other countries?

We can agree to disagree, but I think not calling people out each and every time is a lost opportunity to challenge hatred.

Boris Johnson was given plenty of opportunity to apologise during the leaders debate for a number of previous comments made about minority groups.
He didn't apologise as he didn't perceive them to be offensive. He didn't perceive them to be offensive because he hides behind the Boris the buffoon character and people make excuses for him based on that. He knew exactly what he was saying and why.
Incidents of Islamaphobia rocketed based on his pillar box comments.
Those who still support for him and will vote for a party he leads are apologists pure and simple.

Justanotherlurker · 28/11/2019 21:14

@TheGirlFromStoryville

Jinx, i shared something similar.

But we have to remember anonymous anecdotal evidence is only acceptable from one side of the political spectrum, if you disagree you are heartless, bigot, or just read propaganda.

Justanotherlurker · 28/11/2019 21:20

Instead of posting old screen shots, you should look at the current manifesto and what the IFS has said.

Hint, it has ridiculed both Tory and Labour, and your screen shot from some rag has been discredited plenty of times.

Maybe answer why we are still getting 'this is the death of the NHS' type comments.

Or maybe you could square this peg that and try and pretend it will just be the top 5% paying for it all:

www.theguardian.com/business/2019/nov/28/corbyn-nationalisation-plans-for-energy-sector-to-collide-with-eu-law-labour

achainisonlyasstrong · 28/11/2019 21:24

Austerity did not happen because of the previous Labour Gov spending plans. That is completely incorrect. Labour did have deficit but unremarkable by international standards. Debt was because of 2008 financial crisis which started in US. The UK govt had to bail out financial banks and that is what caused the massive increase in debt. Before the financial crisis and recession , Conservative party’s spending plans were pretty close to Labour’s and they were def not asking for tighter financial regulation of banks which would have stopped the financial crisis.

achainisonlyasstrong · 28/11/2019 21:34

Also agree Labour’s spending plans are far from extreme in an international context. They are radical in a Uk context. But establishment of NHS was considered radical and extreme when it was first set up too. It’s also debt to GDP ratio that matters. If the economy grows, govt can collect taxes and pay off interest etc. There has to be economic growth. Brexit which most economists believe will negatively impact economic growth may make debt position unsustainable too.
