Are there a disproportionate amount of Scots on MN?

AIBU in thinking there is a disproportionately large amount of Scots on MN? Before I continue, there is absolutely nothing 'wrong' with this, just an observation.

I very often see on the "what are you doing today" threads posted on a Sunday that they are going to the supermarket at 9am... where England and Wales don't have extended Sunday trading hours. Or lots of "I'll be voting SNP at the general election".

Anyone else noticed this? I wonder what the percentage of active users are English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish, and others?

Checking in from deepest West Lothian to say that Kevin Bridges most certainly didn’t invent the phrase ‘did ye, aye’ (although he delivers it beautifully witheringly).

Likethebattle · 27/11/2019 18:01

@Veronicat that’s where my parents are from i was brought up further along the coast lol. My mother grew up a a village starting with T associated lines with a particular poet Wink and my dad a few villages over starting with D.

My favourite phrase is ‘yer maw!’

IfWishesWereFishes · 27/11/2019 18:02

Scot here, and bloody grateful to be too, when I read some of the school threads on here, lunchbox police and holiday fines. People being denied a day off for their kids to attend family funerals! Shock

We just booked a holiday for term time and when I tell the school they'll say 'have a great time'.

Mrsjayy · 27/11/2019 18:02

Whaur dae ye stay?*

That's the usual question after Hiya hows you
