Are there a disproportionate amount of Scots on MN?

AIBU in thinking there is a disproportionately large amount of Scots on MN? Before I continue, there is absolutely nothing 'wrong' with this, just an observation.

I very often see on the "what are you doing today" threads posted on a Sunday that they are going to the supermarket at 9am... where England and Wales don't have extended Sunday trading hours. Or lots of "I'll be voting SNP at the general election".

Anyone else noticed this? I wonder what the percentage of active users are English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish, and others?

I absolutely need to get a bottle of that 1901 Irn Bru to put in with my daughter's Christmas gifts. She can open it in her own house Grin].

Mrsjayy · 03/12/2019 20:33

Dd just brought a bottle in apparently it has been flying out the shop. I shall report backif she ever opens it !

Dowser · 03/12/2019 21:04

Devil

Probably not, but we certainly like to point it out when possible 😆 e.g. in the summer when other people are roasting away down South and we're getting excited about 17c

Yeah but you get 2 hours extra shopping on a Sunday...

Wasn’t anyone else born in Ninewells?

2018SoFarSoGreat · 04/12/2019 00:36

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I gave birth at Ninewells once. Does that make you feel more included?

I was born at Maryfield. Old but classic.

IfWishesWereFishes · 04/12/2019 09:14

I was @TooExtraImmatureCheddar Smile and so were my kids.

wafflyversatile · 04/12/2019 15:05

I was born in Ninewells! don't remember much about it tbh.

I think up until very recently at least Scotland was the only place where Coca Cola had a factory, but wasn't the most popular fizzy drink.
