Corbyn's Glasses

AIBU to suggest he gets them fixed?

Yesterday he seemed to being having trouble with them yet again when they kept sliding down his nose while giving a speech. I have become obsessed with them and instead of listening to what he saying I am watching his glasses.

Specsavers glasses are crap.

MonChatEstMagnifique · 27/11/2019 17:12

JoannaObrien

Why start a thread about his glasses ? The reasons for him wearing glasses, the heavier lense on one side and therefore the reason they are not always level have been reported. It's a health issue which I wouldn't want anyone to suffer from or to be mocked or judged on regardless of where my political views lie. I know someone whose life was made a misery because of a similar issue and people bullying, mocking and judging her appearance.

Stick to the politics. If you don't like him, fair enough but buy don't judge on his appearance due to a health issue.

Topseyt · 27/11/2019 17:14

Specsavers glasses are not crap. Mine are fine, and I have complex prescriptions, different in each eye.

I don't have an issue with Corbyn's glasses. I do have an issue with Boris Johnson though. He is an arse who cannot even brush his hair.

I remember Michael Foot as leader of the Labour Party. Nice man, pretty clever too by all accounts, but OMG his glasses!! Always totally wonky and virtually hanging off the end of his nose.

Corbyn's glasses are perfect in comparison.

My DH is a disaster with his glasses, which he needs for reading and close up stuff. He loses them all the time, drops them, puts stuff down on top of them, has sat on them many times. They are irreparably wonky and he barely seems to notice. He isn't allowed near mine, which I need all the time and cannot function without.

iklboo · 27/11/2019 17:19

This is a new low.

Rise · 27/11/2019 17:20

His right lens isn't tinted, he wears a stick on fresnel prism. It doesn't appear on all specs so I assume he is wearing it temporarily to determine the level of correction he requires or his tolerance for the prism.

greenlavender · 27/11/2019 17:35

This seriously makes me so angry. There are many reasons to criticise Corbyn - but seriously his glasses?! Johnson looks like he's slept in a hedge most of the time but that's not why I think he's a a dangerous out of control liar. I'm not a Conservative but I think Ken Clarke was one of the best Prime Ministers we never had. Liz Truss & Priti Patel are smartly dressed but I wouldn't trust either of them to look after my imaginary goldfish. Shirley Williams on the other hand - brilliant politician. We have to stop being so shallow.

greenlavender · 27/11/2019 17:38

And Johnson hasn't yet agreed to a date to be interviewed by Neil & probably won't because he'd bluster & wither under the scrutiny.

Treaclepie19 · 27/11/2019 18:01

When you have to resort to playground insults to put someone down, you know you're on the back foot.

ilovesooty · 27/11/2019 18:10

Why start a thread about his glasses
Because @JoannaObrien actually wanted to have a general Corbyn bash and thought her views were so important they deserved their own thread.

MzPumpkinPie · 27/11/2019 18:20

I had a bleed on my brain stem ( a type of stroke ) almost 5 months ago and my eye is now wonky like his.
I wonder if the rumours about him having mini strokes are true ?
Maybe he wears his glasses like that to take attention away from his ptosis?

MzPumpkinPie · 27/11/2019 18:22

And yes Boris is a scruffy git.
Neither of them are stylish or groomed

ForalltheSaints · 27/11/2019 18:25

I do not care about his glasses.

I care about his lack of action about those party members who have made anti-semitic comments.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 27/11/2019 18:27

Man who wears glasses has a different prescription in each eye shocker.

FFS!

MonChatEstMagnifique · 27/11/2019 18:29

Because @JoannaObrien actually wanted to have a general Corbyn bash and thought her views were so important they deserved their own thread.

Grin But OP could have just done that and anyone who was interested would have commented. There's so many threads bashing both sides with no shortage of posters. The conclusion I draw is that OP is just unkind and the type of person who made my friends life so miserable. That's nothing to be proud of.

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 18:34

I don't need to bash Corbyn he is doing it himself .....

OP posts:
Blossie0 · 27/11/2019 18:44

I don't think the tilt of his glasses will have any impact on his ability as Prime Minister

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 18:48

@Blossie0

I get what you mean but I still don't want him in charge of the UK...

OP posts:
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 27/11/2019 18:50

OP this is a silly thread. Corbyn has an eye problem so his specs may be unbalanced.

BJ is not noted for his polished appearance is he.

I’m a Tory voter

ilovesooty · 27/11/2019 18:51

So the thread wasn't really sbout his glasses at all...

JoannaObrien · 27/11/2019 18:52

@ChazsBrilliantAttitude

Yes I agree but he does have something ...

OP posts:
greenlavender · 27/11/2019 18:55

I thought this was a site for adults, not the playground. I despair honestly.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 27/11/2019 18:56

I don't give a shit about his glasses.

Policies are what counts, but seriously, Johnson lookas like he's been dragged through a bush backwards and you are criticising Corbyn's specs?
