Did anyone see the man on QT asking about tax?

Apparently he doesn't even think he is in the top 50 percent of earners.

All doctors earn more apparently and solicitors.

How out of touch with reality?

He didn't come across well and very out of touch.

@Alsohuman what nonsense?

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:22

@PassthecherrycokeLogjam you clearly know nothing about either living in London or earning£80k all knowing one - why would you assume that? Answer the question please!

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:24

Logjam: you need to live in London to earn £80k

Me: no you don’t

Logjam: ah well you just live somewhere really expensive too

Me: so you don’t need to live in London to earn £80k?

Logjam

whopiedo · 22/11/2019 21:28

@Passthecherrycoke but it's easier to obtain salaries of 80k in London is it not, particularly in the public sector? Plus I thought you said your income was unusual?

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:29

It’s unusual to buy a house alone, and of course it’s unusual to earn £80k or more. This entire thread is about it being the top 5%.

My income is unusual in or out of London. The facts back that up

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:30

Me: so you don’t need to live in London to earn £80k?
You are right there, that would be a stupid statement to suggest you need to live in London to earn at least £80k but you are more likely to earn £80k in London than elsewhere in the UK (now I realise I need to be very specific with you) - I also concur that there are other places in the world where £80k can be earned. Sorry for being a bit sloppy! Blush

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:31

“Logjam

But they’re choosing to spend that income on living and working in London... that doesn’t make it a lower income. But if they weren't living in London it's likely they couldn't earn over £80K.”

What did you mean by this post of 20:18?

The bold is the post you quoted, the rest is what you’ve typed.

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:32

Now tell me you need to be specific, idiot.

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:33

Logjam you clearly know nothing about either living in London or earning£80k Am still confused as to why you thing I know nothing about living in London or earning megabucks £80k?

tabulahrasa · 22/11/2019 21:39

“The bold is the post you quoted, the rest is what you’ve typed.“

Nope, Logjam was quoting me in the second part.

whopiedo · 22/11/2019 21:41

@Passthecherrycoke you didn't answer my question of whether there are more higher paying jobs centred in London or not?

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:41

@Passthecherrycoke But if they weren't living in London it's likely they couldn't earn over £80K. You'll note I used the word likely- as in there is less probability that you will earn £80K- that does not mean fact, that does not mean you can't earn £80k - that just means more people get paid more for the same job in the SE, specifically London as opposed to outside the SE - sorry for not being clear enough before - will try to explain it again tomorrow if you are still confused as definitely had too much wine now to do a better job of it. Grin

zsazsajuju · 22/11/2019 21:42

@Passthecherrycoke there are much fewer jobs that pay £80k plus outside of London. Don’t you work for a housing association? It’s a bit shameful that funds that shouLd be going to pay for housing is going to pay for high wages instead.

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:43

Now tell me you need to be specific, idiot. Now you are being rude - did you mean to be rude?

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:44

I don’t need you to explain your backtracking to me logjam

Whopiedo I don’t understand why you think that is a question for me?

Tabulahrasa what time is the post you say you made that logjam quotes? Because your post makes no sense

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:45

I did mean to be rude I’m afraid logjam, your posts have highly irritated me.

Zsazsa- why do you think that?

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:45

I don’t need you to explain your backtracking to me logjam Excellent I can go to be happy, cheers! Wine

JacobReesClunge · 22/11/2019 21:47

Bemusing response to being asked when you'd purchased passthecherrycoke. There's no reason why asking you a question about information you'd given should relate to you saying that you dont need to live in London to earn 80k. This thread is literally about someone who lives a long way from London and does, after all.

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:47

That's go to bed happy - see how cheery you've made me Passthecherrycoke Grin

tabulahrasa · 22/11/2019 21:48

Actually I’m wrong... nevermind... that bit wasn’t me, lol

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:49

I did mean to be rude I’m afraid logjam, your posts have highly irritated me. I'm very sorry about that - you've been so lovely too!

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:49

Yeah I know tabulahrasa Grin

whopiedo · 22/11/2019 21:51

Whopiedo I don’t understand why you think that is a question for me?

Were you not posting that you don't need to live in London to earn 80k?

Passthecherrycoke · 22/11/2019 21:52

And you don’t, do you?

Logjam · 22/11/2019 21:55

@passthechrrycoke *And you don’t, do you? - who was that for - or was it just a random thought that came into your head?
