on George Clarke's Old House, New House.

In their lounge they have an electronic keyboard - "The piano", a pair cheap metal bookcase "The library" a photographic umbrella leaning against the wall which is the 'photographic studio'

I like George, but he does some horrific things with the houses sometimes. There was the big house a few weeks ago with a lovely stone fascia which he just concreted over, together with the brick extension on the side. And the black family who owned a terrace house in South London. He painted right across it, it might have been black or red. Must have reduced the value by tens of £!

PositiveVibez · 21/11/2019 18:56

I used to watch Amazing Spaces, but he was too annoying.

Or as George used to call it 'Ameeeeyazinn speeeayces'

PooWillyBumBum · 21/11/2019 19:05

He talks rubbish and is neither interesting nor articulate.

Kevin McCloud, on the other hand, is great.

SpamChaudFroid · 21/11/2019 19:12

I used to think George quite handsome, and I have no idea why.

Completely agree with Alistair Appleton; he's so charming. I'd love to have afternoon tea with him.

Toenail please do one of the others! Grin

spacepyramid · 21/11/2019 19:31

I'm not sticking up for either but to call him a big game hunter is very misleading/libellous .

LIke I said up thread, I stand corrected. Libel doesn't mean accidentally saying something about somebody.

No he didn't. The owners already had planning permission for the two storey extension at the back which got rid of the stone. The original brick extension deserved to be rendered!

Boxofchocolatefrogs · 21/11/2019 21:05

@W0rriedMum. Not sure about architects. They already had plans in place before they even applied but I know they got a significant discount on the furniture and fittings.

I read that post as meaning big on hunting game, not hunting big game, iyswim Grin

But he, George, isn’t really doing the designs or improvements for these builds, is he? That’s all for show, where he comes in and draws on an architectural drawing with a blue pen and says to knock down this or that wall. I’ve always assumed it’s completely pretend and it’s all been signed off by the real architects ages beforehand.

30to50FeralHogs · 21/11/2019 22:05

I used to think George quite handsome, and I have no idea why I don’t want to be that woman , but he hasn’t aged well!

The thing that gets me - he cries literally every time and then he always says “you’ve got me crying now. I never cry!”

dontcallmeduck · 21/11/2019 22:06

We were not impressed by the bespoke cabinets that looked like the ikea kallax units every house has.

How amazed was the man that there was indeed an old external wall complete with windows and a door on the inside of his house. Mind blown at the glaringly obvious!

MrsIronfoundersson · 21/11/2019 22:17

I've been in a lift with Kevin Mccloud... skinny and smelt nice.

Vickyprice · 21/11/2019 22:51

What happened to Sarah Beeny, she used to be absolutely everywhere and continuously pregnant? Bought that huge house to do weddings in but didn't have a licence or something??

spacepyramid · 21/11/2019 22:54

She's podcasting now and has sold Rise Hall.

satanstoenailsandwich · 21/11/2019 22:56

Who's worse: George Clarke or Nick Knowles?

Neither come close to Kevin McCloud, who is on the Monty Don level of being an ace presenter.

satanstoenailsandwich · 21/11/2019 22:58

'Always enjoyed watching Phil Spencer but I'm horrified that he's a hunter and yes I'm vegan.'

No one asked but thank you for telling us that completely random fact.

baublegirl454 · 21/11/2019 23:13

My kids liked watching the George Clarke series about sheds. They call him 'Fat Jeremy Renner' 🤣🤣🤣

30to50FeralHogs · 21/11/2019 23:16

They call him 'Fat Jeremy Renner'

Actually LOLing at that Grin

Cherrysoup · 21/11/2019 23:25

Plarster, Marster etc are normal northeast pronunciation, moving to plorster and morster for some really thick accents. I'll not say Geordie as he's from Washington which is Sunderland.

Nope, a later pp has it, ‘mah-ster, plah-ster’ is far more like it.

I am fascinated by his appalling shaving rash, although that has dramatically improved recently.

Kevin McCloud’s weird accent is also fascinating, despite being southern and clearly a bit posh, he often pronounces vowels in a northern way. I do the drinking game thing on his programmes when he asks how much over budget the build has gone. Every fucking time!

TitsMcGeeee · 21/11/2019 23:30

I actually like George, Phil and Kevin. Kevin is a bit wanky at times though. But that's ok.

SimpleAndPlanned · 21/11/2019 23:46

I quite like George until all the touching and flirting with the Mum of the two small kids on this weeks episode. Just no.

Kevin always predicts disaster and it rarely is. I'd love if he went back and filmed all the places that have actually gone wrong.

Now Piers seems genuinely interested but when he goes somewhere hot he get so sweaty! Just wish they would get him to pat himself dry with a towel between shots (if I'm thinking about the same right person).

Onwardsagain · 21/11/2019 23:51

I(I'd) love a bit of George Clarke 😈, also enjoy watching Phil Spencer and Kevin McCloud even though I think they could all rethink the format of their shows a little.

Love James Martin and Paul Hollywood too!

Despite being able to buy and do up my own house and cook really quite well I'm drawn to men that can build a home and put a good meal on the table 🙈

ReadyPayerTwo · 22/11/2019 01:09

@ToeNailSoup well just yuck

Singlenotsingle · 22/11/2019 05:33

James Martin and Paul Hollywood are both too porky. That comes from being bakers/chefs I suppose. Gino's the one I'm really not sure about. If anyone's wanky, it's him!

Sweetpea55 · 22/11/2019 06:02

George Clark and his puffy nipples.. Lord what a thought
