on George Clarke's Old House, New House.

In their lounge they have an electronic keyboard - "The piano", a pair cheap metal bookcase "The library" a photographic umbrella leaning against the wall which is the 'photographic studio'

Jesus wept... I've thought about these men naked waaaaaaaay too much

You really have, weirdest post all year. Hmm

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 21/11/2019 15:33

@ToeNailSoup woah Confused

TeaAndStrumpets · 21/11/2019 15:35

Over the years George Clarke has come to be known as "Crying George" in this house. Agreed the glass doors on the stone house were awful!

PhoneLock · 21/11/2019 15:36

I don't mind Phil Spencer or Kevin McCloud (or his Australian clone) but, I agree, George Clarke, is simply irritating.

AliceLittle · 21/11/2019 15:37

Everything George's eyes is "totally unbelievable"

Stood in the middle of the fucking room and you still don't believe its existence. Fuck off, prick.

Boxofchocolatefrogs · 21/11/2019 15:38

My sister was on the last series of old house, new home. Clarkes input is very VERY limited. Lots of tradesman turned up two days before filming the reveal when my control freak sister realised she couldn’t in fact paint quicker and better than the professionals but apart from that GC was only there for a few hours of filming. He seemed ok if not a little full of himself.

AdobeWanKenobi · 21/11/2019 15:38

George Clarke cannot say the word 'Architect' which given his profession amuses me endlessly.
He also reaches new levels of simpering over young, attractive women.

TeaAndStrumpets · 21/11/2019 15:39

To be fair to George, he did a good programme about council housing, and showed great passion for the topic. I think he is involved in a project for affordable housing at the moment.

VictoriaBun · 21/11/2019 15:44

ToeNailSoup.

You need to be ashamed of yourself. Go and lay down in a darkened room !😂😂😉😉

CatUnderTheStairs · 21/11/2019 15:48

I like what he comes up with. That arts and crafts house he did up in the last series of Old House New Home was really good.

Kernowgal · 21/11/2019 15:49

Alistair Appleton winked at me while filming outside Covent Garden tube years ago. I came over all unnecessary. I know he bats for the other side but he’s quite gorgeous.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 21/11/2019 15:52

@ToeNailSoup I’m crying Grin

Thesuzle · 21/11/2019 15:56

Dam it that’s a dream i can no longer have over Alistair,, where he gone now, dont see him on tv

DrFoxtrot · 21/11/2019 15:56

I once met George Clarke on a train and we chatted to him without letting on that we knew who he was. And he was very lovely Smile.

daisypond · 21/11/2019 15:56

I like George Clarke. I never expect these presenters to have any real input into the houses. They just come in and present for the cameras.

lalafafa · 21/11/2019 15:58

I hate the was he says plaaaaster

lalafafa · 21/11/2019 15:58

he's a pervy c head too

LookingforBakedAlaska · 21/11/2019 16:02

@toenailsoup...my favourite MN post all year 🤣🤣. However, I’ve noticed that Phil drinks rose when he is on Location and for some bizarre reason that makes me very mistrustful of him (although maybe it’s simply because he’s an Estate Agent)...and I reckon given that he might be a bit of a let down and not quite as macho as you’re fantasising 😆

George...or ‘coconut head’ as he is affectionately called in our house has reached a whole new level of irritating in overusing the word “space”. On that basis alone his programmes make me cringe and I can only bring myself to watch the reveal...where he does generally border on weepy.

AdobeWanKenobi · 21/11/2019 16:06

I hate the was he says plaaaaster

Yes! He says maaaaaaaster bedroom, like someone trying to put a posh accent on but deep down you know he's as Northern as the rest of us. I'm sure he's not always done this.

PickAChew · 21/11/2019 16:09

I only watch old house, new home for the sheer conceit of the reveal at the end which completely forgets that the home owners lived through all the work.

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 21/11/2019 16:12

I like both George Clarke and Phil Spencer. I'm also partial to bit of Kevin McCloud, even though he talks wank most of the time.

Me too. They're the holy trinity of Channel 4 home shows!!

PopGoesTheWeaz · 21/11/2019 16:12

Phil Spencer went right out of favour when I found out he was a big game hunter.

If it helps, he just shoots common or garden game, not big game.

Yes, there is a huge difference between shooting rabbits and deer (and then eating the meat) and shooting endangered species and big game. I'm not sticking up for either but to call him a big game hunter is very misleading/libellous .

Vulpine · 21/11/2019 16:12

Yes he is a dirty shagger i believe - had an affair with a younger woman whilst his wife and kids at home but Toenail whats the colour of his skin got to do with anything?!

PickAChew · 21/11/2019 16:12

Plarster, Marster etc are normal northeast pronunciation, moving to plorster and morster for some really thick accents. I'll not say Geordie as he's from Washington which is Sunderland.

Nanny0gg · 21/11/2019 16:17

Alistair Appleton was lovely. Shame he's not on TV any more.

I used to Like Kevin on that programme he did years ago with Diamuid Gavin
