Ladies, help me. I'm mid 40s and the bastard chins hairs keep on coming. I keep plucking them out, but am I going to have a beard by the time I'm 50? Nasty course black thick hairs. Do I need to go and see my GP? ARGH!?!?!

The white ones are bastards to get out. And yes to face fluff. WTF is that about??

So the philips thingy is recommended? I have black chin hair. When they regrow a lot of them are ingrown and cause spots and scabs. It looks terrible Sad and I have many many hairs.

From reading this thread I think my "Pig Bristles" might be a bit of an anomaly. I don't get stray coarse hairs like most of you, I get a sort of fine fuzz all over my chin, jawline and upper lip. Irritating as it's not really tweezeable.

@MinisterforCheekyFuckery
I think it is what we refer to as fluff. You're just lucky not to have bristles too Wink.

I have a Lumea and while it's been relatively successful it's not been the magical wonder machine I expected.

It got rid of my underarm hair and minimal growth on legs but has zero effect on bikini line and moderate success on the chin and lip.

Lumea definitely helps too although I find it slows them down rather than stops them entirely. IF I keep it up fortnightly then there are much fewer to pluck and I can get away with a light shave once a month and the odd plucking in between. Also a good chemical exfoliator reduces the spots and bumps. Pixi Glow Tonic is a good starter. It turns over the skin so that the little fuckers can get out more easily and with less damage. The Ordinary do a similar thing. It does mean you get more of the 'WTF' foot long hairs appearing overnight...

My experience is that Lumea makes a clear notable difference to face/chin hair but doesn’t eliminate. Best on lighter skin and dark hair, not going to do anything on white hairs. There are regular deals on.

Phew! I'm not the only one then Grin

I suffer a triple curse - moustache, cheek fuzz and thick chin/neck hairs!

I use nair on dark haired upper lip, nair bleach on cheeks (which seems to weaken and break longer hairs) and epilator with facial setting on chin hairs. If I exfoliate a couple of times per week I only need to epilate maybe twice per week and tweeze the odd stray in between.

Lumea doesn't do anything for me. I spend 10 minutes every day happily plucking away with a nice song or two in the background, it's quite relaxing actually.

I had an appointment with the midwife this afternoon and had to lie down on the table at one point. All I could think about was that I hadn't plucked my chin hairs for a while and that they were now in full view! Blush

I'm not sure Pig Fluff is any more attractive to be honest Grin

I'm in my early 30's and have been having to pluck out 2 stupid, stubborn hairs since I was pregnant with my DS at 29! Bastard things, come through so spiky and mank. I keep thinking about electrolysis?

TheMasterBaker · 19/11/2019 16:28

I have bastard cheek fluff too, soft and downy, I forget to get rid of it, look in the mirror with the light shining on it and I look like a downy duckling!

Shaving here, (and mid-40s) also. Except when there’s a long thick one that escaped the blade, then I’m a tweezer-er.

Btw, my hairiness has hugely increased since using The Ordinary buffet. A known side effect apparently.

Nicer skin, more shaving. I’ll take that trade off.

I get it too. Always notice when I'm at work and no tweezers around Confused

I'm place marking to read later.
Me too.
I plucked mine today they're fair but strong I think they're embedded in my jaw.
I used a makeup mirror my chin looked like a wizard.

Than god it's not just me! I've resorted to shaving mine off at times,I get so sick of plucking every few days. I'm very fair skinned, with blonde hair, and body-wise,am as un-hairy as they come. Except for the bastard chin hairs. Never known hair to grow so bloody fast. Every 3 or 4 days, they're back. I'm told that they're barely visible, but I can FEEL them! All stubbly and horrible.

I have had two beauty therapists tell me that I shouldn’t pluck them. They said it makes the hairs thicker. I was told to snip them! My friend has an electric gadget which pulls them out. Probably like A Braun one I had years ago. Been snipping mine for years but it is dead annoying.

I use Tweezermans. Get the hairs at an early stage compared to normal tweezers.

I just got a spring epilator today.

It's a good day hair wise and I don't have much - there is some

Doesn't seem to be doing anything much - am I doing it right?

How on earth do people tweezer them without getting spots??? Mid 30s here and my chin is a furry spotty mess. I want to cry.
Intrigued by Lumea though, never heard of it before.

ScreamedAtTheMichelangelo · 20/11/2019 18:57

I’ve found my people. Grin I use a no no or tweeze the bastards. The worst is when you can feel them edging in and they rasp, but they’re too short to pluck. Stop it!!!!

What exactly is a no no?
