Ladies, help me. I'm mid 40s and the bastard chins hairs keep on coming. I keep plucking them out, but am I going to have a beard by the time I'm 50? Nasty course black thick hairs. Do I need to go and see my GP? ARGH!?!?!

Ladies, sugaring helps a lot I find. It's similar to waxing but way better.

I pluck on a daily basis too (I'm 48). And the nipple hairs! I swear my chest area is getting hairy faster than ds who is 17!

@user do you make your own sugaring?

Has anyone had any success with treatment from a GP? I’m blonde but some of the chin hairs are dark so no idea if Lumea would work for me. I spend about 20-30 mins every night plucking. I’ve no idea how many of the fuckers I pull out on a weekly basis, it must be hundreds.

Alas I just shave the fuckers!

The horror is when I spot it at work, no tweezers around and unable to focus on anything else Hmm

Does anyone know what brings this on? Mine suddenly started all of a sudden a couple of years ago when I was in my late twenties. No significant hormonal events which might have brought them on, but I got hairy nipples around the same time too Confused

Those of you who wax the tash or chin hair, how often do you do it? Do you have to grow it out so it’s quite noticeable before you can wax again?

I grew a small beard when pregnant. They've never left.

I try never to be more than about a yard away from a pair of tweezers at any given moment.

I have had awful dark hair since childhood. Turned out to be polycystic ovaries. It certainly got worse in my advancing years. The only solution for me has been laser treatment every 6 months. It doesn't zap every hair but if you keep going for sessions it certainly does the job. I love it, so liberating as used to spend hours compulsively tugging with a tweezer. It became competitive but damaged my skin plunging at pores just as another little terror...popped up on pale skin that shows them clearly. Lasering stings a bit, but defo. worth it. You should get checked out at the doctors for health as well. While it may be dismissed as the change bla bla, it can be a sign of underlying metabolic issues like thyroid disease...my hair issues got worse around the time my thyroid packed up.

Sorry to deliver this news but there is no point in spending your money on anything other than Nair and a good pair of tweezers. I should know. I have tried it all.

I don't even mind the 5" long ones that sprout overnight because at least you can grab those rather than those black pepper-spots that lurk around under the surface whilst deciding whether they're going to get infected and make you grow a spot, too.

Big fan of the mini razor, tweezers and a 10x mirror here! I think it’s age, mine crept up over the last few years, now 40s. My friend calls them fallen eyelashes 🤣🤣🤣 carry a mirror and tweezers everywhere, it’s the only way. Was in the pub last week and a slightly younger friend was pulling at her chin a bit, suddenly announced ‘omg it’s attached’ and was offered at least 3 sets of tweezers to deal with the offender.

Aside from that, what is it that makes the grey ones so damn tough?! Experienced the first one of those recently and it was insanely thick and hard to tug. I fully expected it to be weak and pathetic. There is clearly strength in ageing!

I have a Philips facial trimmer which is quite good.

Just go to a good salon and have them removed with the hot wax (not warm wax with strips of cloth - must be the hot wax and no strips).

If you see the odd one in between visits, tweezer it out.

Waxing once a month will probably be fine. £15-20. Worth it.

I have a little mole on my chin that gets hairs growing out of it. Used to be just the one hair but a few more have appeared in the last year or so. I don't really mind taking the tweezers to them, in fact it's quite satisfying getting hold of one that's only a couple of mm long. But when you pull it out and it's closer to a centimetre.....how does it fit in there! The mole isn't that big!
Doesn't cause an issue day to day but I might see about getting the mole removed at some point in the future.

I shave! Have done for years, it was a side effect of some meds. You could go to the docs if you're concerned, but sometimes it's natural.

Did try electrolysis a couple of times as it was on offer, but couldn't afford to keep it up. In an ideal world, I'd have it lasered.

I almost ran home tonight as I could feel a little bump all day where one was coming through. I got the little fucker eventually and it gave that satisfying squeak noise!

Ooh at 50 i have more of a beard than dh do, if I let it grow (he doesn't have much) - especially under the chin. You definitely have something to look forward to Grin. And you get facial 'fluff' too Confused.

Invest in the best pair of tweezers.
