Reading the thread where the OP ate a 200g bar of chocolate and I was clutching my pearls shocked at the amount of weirdos Mnetters who keep their chocolate in the FRIDGE!!! It's teeth breakingly hard to bite and doesn't melt into deliciousness as easily. Why the fridge???!!!!!!!

**aLilNonnyMouse

You are going to hate me then! I keep my snickers in the freezer.

Makes it last for ages and it melts into a gooey mess grin

Me too Nonnymouse, frozen chocolate all the way

Winglessvulture · 17/11/2019 20:43

I agree OP, chocolate from the fridge is horrible! I like mine room temp with a cup of tea.

Straycatstrut · 17/11/2019 20:44

I melt them a bit then freeze them, then fridge ha!! kinder bars and Belgian seashells!..... don't know what happens to it but it's sooo good!

Clearnightsky · 17/11/2019 20:45

Snickers in the fridge = good
Chocolate in the fridge = snappy and cold.

Come on MN, chocolate is supposed to be warm and melty and sensual!

(I think I need a relationship... ) Blush

champagneandfromage50 · 17/11/2019 20:49

I like chocolate from the fridge. Always stick mine in there. I love a snickers and being able to bite the chocolate off first. Same with a mars, I love the crunch of the chocolate before the caramel oozes out too

Shufflebumnessie · 17/11/2019 20:56

Pretty much all chocolate goes in the fridge. Easter eggs go in the freezer Grin

DarkDarkNight · 17/11/2019 21:04

I like my chocolate in the fridge, sometimes the freezer. I don’t like the melting texture, I like the bite. Giant Buttons straight from the fridge are the best.

Tistheseason17 · 17/11/2019 21:09

YANBU.

DH keeps his in the fridge and as I am considering divorce!! Grin

(Maybe he keeps it there to stop me stealing it.. Blush

VenusTiger · 17/11/2019 21:17

I agree @NonUrinatInVentum it doesn’t melt the same way, plus you can’t taste it!
Cold sweet foods tend to have no flavour. You’re supposed to store chocolate in a dark place at 15-21 degrees.

egontoste · 17/11/2019 21:20

There is absolutely nothing like a cold, stiff Kit-Kat on a hot day Grin

Whattodoabout · 17/11/2019 21:22

YANBU but I understand why people in warmer climates do.

RolytheRhino · 17/11/2019 21:27

Stop referring to it as 'clagginess' OP. Claggy is a word used to describe one's undercarriage on a hot day (ask Sarah Millican), you don't want your chocolate claggy!

I'm very surprised at the amount of chocolate refrigerators.

Dieu · 17/11/2019 21:27

I'm with you, OP. I definitely prefer my chocolate on the tacky side.

QuinoaWest · 17/11/2019 21:30

After careful consideration, I'm confessing to you a real chocolate kink: letting pieces of fridge-chilled Crunchie slowly dissolve on my tongue, whilst taking a hot shower.

Crossed over to the dark side, me.

YANBU at all OP!

kateandme · 17/11/2019 21:30

it depends on the chocolate

kateandme · 17/11/2019 21:33

oh apart from holidaying in france.then choc has to be in the fridge!

Toddlerteaplease · 17/11/2019 21:55

I keep m W in the fridge. And if we ha e chocolate at work it goes in the feed fridge as it keeps it out of sight and out of mind. And I don't like melted chocolates!

Pcosmama · 17/11/2019 21:59

I keep it in the fridge!

Bizaarely, my FIL offered me some chocolate the other day and said "help yourself it's in the freezer."
"why the freezer?!" I asked, incredulous. He looked at me like I had two heads and said "well I like it cold so I freeze it then defrost it a little."
Bewildered, I said "why don't you just put it in the fridge then?" and he just stared at me like I had lost my mind and that was the end of the conversation.

Still flabbergasted.

MyMuffinsStuck · 17/11/2019 22:04

Lindor balls HAVE to be fridged!
I also fridge galaxy then get a Hot brew.
Dunk. Suck. Repeat...
You get more dunks and sucks if you fridge it. Fact.

Don't dunk your fridged lindor ball though! The brew steam meeting the fridgy coldness means condensation... end up with very slippy balls bobbing about in your tea! They're a bugger to fish out once they're in too!

SapphireSeptember · 17/11/2019 23:20

I like mine when it's bendy. You get the full chocolate taste when it's warm.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 17/11/2019 23:31

Fridge chocolate is the best, a proper crunch and then a slow melt, it lasts longer.

cheeseislife8 · 18/11/2019 00:11

very slippy balls bobbing about in your tea

This thread has been an eye-opener

littledrummergirl · 18/11/2019 00:37

Rolos must be kept in the freezer.

managedmis · 18/11/2019 00:42
