Reading the thread where the OP ate a 200g bar of chocolate and I was clutching my pearls shocked at the amount of weirdos Mnetters who keep their chocolate in the FRIDGE!!! It's teeth breakingly hard to bite and doesn't melt into deliciousness as easily. Why the fridge???!!!!!!!

I'm with you OP. Fridge makes it way too cold.

DieHardISaChristmasFilm · 17/11/2019 19:47

Utterly weird to fridge chocolate- it makes it taste of nothing

dementedma · 17/11/2019 19:48

Mars bars from the freezer are divine. Take ages to gnaw and chew

MrsJBaptiste · 17/11/2019 19:49

I love chocolate but can't eat it if it's room temperature.

Fridge is ok, freezer is great.

Mum2jenny · 17/11/2019 19:49

Chocolate at room temperature only, unless it’s in the form of a frozen mars bar or equivalent. Cold chocolate masks the full chocolately taste of chocolate.

OhHolyNightWaking · 17/11/2019 19:49

Giant buttons are amazing cold from the fridge!

Cornettoninja · 17/11/2019 19:49

My dp used to lodge in his younger days with a bloke who kept a toblerone in the fridge and would just gnaw on it every evening Grin

I quite like refrigerated chocolate mars bars and milky ways are lovely cold.

silencebeforethebleeps · 17/11/2019 19:50

Nah. I dip my chocolate into hot tea before I eat it.

newbingepisodes · 17/11/2019 19:51

Yep keep mine in the fridge!

Crinkle77 · 17/11/2019 19:52

That's the very reason I love it OP cos it goes so hard.

WombleishOfTheThighs · 17/11/2019 19:52

@CactusAndCacti '... the next thing they would be telling me is that they don't tip when eating a corner yoghurt.'

I don't. I take a a bit of the fruit on the the tip of the spoon, then dip into the yoghurt Grin I definitely don't keep my chocolate in the fridge; it doesn't taste of anything when it's cold.

UOkhun77 · 17/11/2019 19:53

No no no no no...refrigerating milk chocolate completely changes the mouthfeel to more like dark which I hate. Room temperature all the way!

Hangingwithmygnomies · 17/11/2019 19:54

CactusAndCacti

YANBU chocolate should never be in the fridge, ever. It is a deal breaker in a friendship, no way do I want to associate with fridge chocolate eaters, the next thing they would be telling me is that they don't tip when eating a corner yoghurt.

Tipping a corner yoghurt - are you insane?! Grin

Flaskfan · 17/11/2019 19:55

Fridge. Don't like it craggy. Although too long in the fridge and it goes weird.

Choc peppermint: not in the fridge.

meow1989 · 17/11/2019 19:57

Oh no, room temperature chocolate is awful! In the fridge or if it's a flake/ripple etc in the freezer!

EpcotForever · 17/11/2019 19:57

My husband keeps his dark chocolate digestives in the fridge Blush
Mine stay in the cupboard!!

shushymcshush · 17/11/2019 19:59

The meltier the better Blush

MitziK · 17/11/2019 19:59

Ice cold then dunked into hot, black coffee.

bridgetreilly · 17/11/2019 20:00

The WHOLE POINT of chocolate is the body temperature melting point. Refrigerating it completely ruins it.

I like the texture if it's from the fridge. For those who say it doesn't taste of anything: You're eating it too fast. The human mouth was evolutionarily designed to be exactly the right temperature to melt chocolate.

I think I've invented a word.

Bowerbird5 · 17/11/2019 20:02

You could break your teeth!

NonUrinatInVentum · 17/11/2019 20:03

The clag is what makes the chocolate IMHO ... Fridge is edited but the freezer is just unacceptable. How do you not break a tooth especially on a mars bar?!

NonUrinatInVentum · 17/11/2019 20:03

*weird not edited Hmm

Spitsandspots · 17/11/2019 20:06

Cold chocolate is tasteless to me, I can only really taste it if it’s able to melt on the tongue. Chocolate from the fridge I just crunch and swallow. DH keeps chocolate in the fridge, probably to stop me eating his.
