Reading the thread where the OP ate a 200g bar of chocolate and I was clutching my pearls shocked at the amount of weirdos Mnetters who keep their chocolate in the FRIDGE!!! It's teeth breakingly hard to bite and doesn't melt into deliciousness as easily. Why the fridge???!!!!!!!

Reading this while eating my almond chocolate straight out of the fridge.

It adds bite

NonUrinatInVentum · 17/11/2019 20:08

Don't you have a hit drink with it to increase the melt ... How can you enjoy it without the melty claggy deliciousness

Depends on the chocolate. After eights, chocolate digestives, twix before they ruined it with palm oil goes in the fridge.

Thorntons or similar stays in the cupboard until it meets it's doom in my stomache Grin

StillMedusa · 17/11/2019 20:09

Fridge here . I hate warm chocolate!

ShinyMe · 17/11/2019 20:10

My chocolate lives in the bread bin. I don't care if you think I'm weird.

happygoluckyhippo · 17/11/2019 20:10

Cupboard for me! It just takes longer to melt in my mouth from the fridge!
Also don't really love choc ices and similar for the same reason. The chocolate doesn't taste as good cold (frozen).

Killerqueen2244 · 17/11/2019 20:14

Fridge every time I’m afraid!! If I eat milk chocolate at room temperature my temples get really hot, almost breaking into a sweat! Confused that’s even weirder than keeping chocolate in the fridge I think!!!

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/11/2019 20:14

The WHOLE POINT of chocolate is the body temperature melting point.

Exactly. Refrigerated chocolate is wasted calories.

NaviSprite · 17/11/2019 20:16

I put mine in the fridge but make sure to remove it when I know I’ll fancy some later on in the day.... the only reason it’s in the fridge is to keep it out of my twin toddlers little mits! They’ve figured out three different types of child locks on the cupboards but aren’t big enough to reach the fridge door yet (I also have to climb up a step ladder to get any cleaning products off the top of my wall mounted cupboards because I gave up on the locks 😂)

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 17/11/2019 20:18

I like it all, at any temperature.

Refrigerated chocolate digestives though - that's the way forward - dipped in milk, not tea, so they retain snap.

NonUrinatInVentum · 17/11/2019 20:21

@ShinyMe that's not weird, it's room temperature Grin

The weirdos are the fridge and freezer people!!

Chocolate in the fridge is minging

SourDoughSophie · 17/11/2019 20:27

Freezer for m e too 🤷‍♀️

EssentialHummus · 17/11/2019 20:27

Freezer here. I actively dislike Twix and mint Aero unless frozen, wherein it transforms into food.of.the.gods.

Daffodil55 · 17/11/2019 20:27

I am a proud weirdo because I have always kept my chocolate and sweets in the fridge. A cup of tea while letting a few sqaures of Cadbury's milk or plain melt on my tongue and I am so easily pleased.

As a child we got sweets and/or chocolate once a week (I recall hardly a single overweight child in my school) and part of this was every Saturday morning a couple of Mars bars were cut up into slices and put in the fridge to harden. We were then given an equal share of slices and we had a game to see who could make theirs last the longest.

TryingToBeBold · 17/11/2019 20:30

The fridge! Even better when its something like Aero, Wispa or Magic Stars and it's all bubbly Grin

ilyjccs · 17/11/2019 20:33

Chocolate in the fridge is a no

phoolani · 17/11/2019 20:35

Sweaty chocolate is disgusting. I only eat chocolate straight out of the freezer. This is the least weird thing about me.

CaMePlaitPas · 17/11/2019 20:37

This thread is full of barbarians.

Chocolate has to be room temperature.

EleanorReally · 17/11/2019 20:37

ooh , when i went to america we kept chocolate in the freezer, delicious.
but now, i like it room temperature, dunked in my coffee

Candle1000 · 17/11/2019 20:37

I’m sure I saw an experiment where different food was tasted at different temperatures-to see if it tasted better hot/cold/warm. Chocolate tasted better when warm , hardly any food tasted better hot and lots tasted better cold.

floraloctopus · 17/11/2019 20:37

It's not weird but I'm impressed that it survives long enough to get to the fridge. I'd have to hide mine if I kept it for long as it'd get eaten by the DCs if it was in the fridge.

OhWellThatsJustGreat · 17/11/2019 20:39

Because dipping cold or frozen chocolate in a cup of tea is quite literally the best thing ever!!!

cheeseislife8 · 17/11/2019 20:41

I never did this until we lived in a horrible hot flat during a hot summer and it had to go in the fridge out of necessity. It converted me! Years later I still put it in the fridge

Tractorgirlz · 17/11/2019 20:41

I can’t taste cold chocolate, it has to be room temperature or warmer so it melts in your mouth.
