Just that.
Although he is being asked the wrong questions.

OP posts:
citcatgirl45 · 17/11/2019 20:47

I know I am in the minority but I don't think he did what he is accused of:-

  1. why has the accuser only talked about this now and not in 2001 when it happened??? It just seems very convenient to speak up now when Epstein has died .
  1. Surely if he was guilty he wouldn't do the interview - you would just lie low.
  1. If it ever is proven that he is guilty he has put the whole of the Royal Family's reputation on the line.
  1. There must be witnesses and security who saw him or were with him at Tramp nightclub that night.
  1. When Beatrice went to the party at Pizza Express as she was under 16 and a grandchild of the Queen, security would have been present so they need to be contacted to find out if this was true.

One of them Virginia or Andrew is lying and we will probably never know unless some new evidence comes to light.

“ListeningQuietly I'm hardly going to say on here”

No. Just drop a few knowing hints. Like people bound by the OSA don’t.

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:49

How many of them do you know Bertrand?

ListeningQuietly · 17/11/2019 20:50

Ohtheroses
Yup, I know several people who were senior to him in the Falklands
and they thought he was a wazzock
two are on record as saying so Grin

Who are your sources?

ListeningQuietly · 17/11/2019 20:54

citcat
Epstein was first convicted in 2008 .....
Prince Andrew was still a confidant at his house two years later

The young lady and her fellow victims were parties to the conviction
its not a new thing

YouTheCat · 17/11/2019 20:54

My Dad was in the Falklands and said everyone thought he was a twat.

Trentadoodoo · 17/11/2019 20:55

PA became rather flustered when EM asked if he would give a statement under oath. Make of that what you will.

DopeyDazy · 17/11/2019 20:58

things have changed a lot since 2001 and records could easily be fabricated, fiaries altered, I believe her and from this thread so do many orhers apart from hus mom and sarah

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:58

I'm hardly gping to put theor names on here. But three. They didn't think he was a twat at all. Quite the reverse.

BilboBercow · 17/11/2019 20:59

@citcatgirl. The woman in question first made accusations against PA in 2015. This is not new information. She didn't make accusations in 2001 because she was a victim of grooming and sex trafficking and continued to be in that situation. It's not unusual for abused people to take many years to be able to share their stories. I believe she was part of Epstein's prosecution

It took me 25 years to report my abuser.

BilboBercow · 17/11/2019 21:04

I wonder what people saying that these girls (and they were girls not women) could have left, that they were willing, that the victim in the photograph looks happy and healthy, feel about the victims of Asian grooming gangs?

In spite of the patterns of behaviour being very similar, I'm betting they feel very different. Maybe poor, vulnerable teenagers only deserve sympathy when they're abused by brown people to them.

BilboBercow · 17/11/2019 21:12

Maybe image search some photos of Sammy Woodhouse as a teenager. She looks the picture of happiness too...

Patroclus · 17/11/2019 21:13

Heard many rumours in a similar vein to that myself, ScreamingLady

Patroclus · 17/11/2019 21:16

I can remember seeing that now famous photo of PA and his accuser years ago and it really staying with me, but I cant remember why I saw it. Anybody remember why? Seems like the vanishing mini Maxwell was a Charles Augutus Milverton of our time.

As I said before , victims can take years before they report abuse

  1. Surely if he was guilty he wouldn't do the interview - you would just lie low

He’s an idiot

  1. If it ever is proven that he is guilty he has put the whole of the Royal Family's reputation on the line

I don’t think he cares

  1. There must be witnesses and security who saw him or were with him at Tramp nightclub that night

Been warned to keep schtum maybe?

churchandstate · 17/11/2019 21:21

I don’t necessarily disbelieve him about the sexual aspect of his behaviour. Nor is that the same as saying VR is lying. It’s possible that she was forced to have sex with a man claiming to be Prince Andrew and with a strong resemblance to him. I wouldn’t put it past someone like Epstein to strategise about how to make sure powerful people look as compromised as possible in order to shore up his leverage against them. Equally, she might just be mistaken.

But I do think he has something to hide. I am just not certain what it is. It might be that he knew perfectly well what was going on. It might be that he has a poor memory of his encounters with VR (even if they weren’t sexual) because of drugs. It might be that he accepted cash from Epstein for favours. We just don’t know. But he’s dodgy as fuck.

Alsohuman · 17/11/2019 21:23

My husband was in the Falklands @OhTheRoses, on the ground, getting shot at. The Duke of York was kept out of harm’s way and was universally despised, “oxygen thief” was the most commonly used label. He was there as a PR exercise.

You flatter yourself if you think my previous post was personal. A more unconvincing array of lies has never been produced than that interview. He’s as guilty as sin, every word gave it away.

Yabu you're op. Needs to be a detailed 15 page argument with referenced quotes etc. For me to even contemplate supporting him

Gin96 · 17/11/2019 21:27

Well the Rotherham girls didn’t get sympathy it was denied for years, no one wanted to talk about it and then the poor girls got the blame. The same thing is going on here, men taking advantage of young girls because they can, they think they are untouchable. As for not reporting it sooner, can you not imagine the threats the girls were told if they reported it? Who is going to believe you over Prince Andrew?

churchandstate · 17/11/2019 21:28

TiddlerontheRoof

I am not excusing him. I simply don’t have all the facts.

BertrandRussell · 17/11/2019 21:29

“ It’s possible that she was forced to have sex with a man claiming to be Prince Andrew and with a strong resemblance to him.”

Yep. That rings true.

churchandstate · 17/11/2019 21:31

I don’t think we can rule out scenarios where VR was deceived. To my understanding, she was frequently given alcohol and drugs. She was also very young. I am not saying I think that’s what happened (to me, it’s more likely her allegations are true), but because I wasn’t there I can’t be certain of what went on, and nor can any of us.
