Just that.
Although he is being asked the wrong questions.

Even on the question on Eipsteins death he looked very suspicious

Anne had her children removed from the Succession

Anne preferred for her children not to have royal titles, however they are still in in the line of succession, albeit distantly. Peter Phillips is currently 15th in line to the throne. When he got married to a Catholic woman, she was required to convert to the Anglican faith in order for him to retain his place in the succesion. The bar on Catholics has since been removed.

Fascinating 2011 Vanity Fair article.

Anne had her children removed from the Succession - and both seem to be very well adjusted

She didn't, they are both in the line of succession - numbers 15 and 18.

ListeningQuietly · 17/11/2019 19:33

OK, poor wording,
they have no titles
they carry out no royal duties
they get no royal money
and only in a "crown hearts and coronets" situation could they be back in the firm
their dad was not known as "fog" for nothing

mbosnz · 17/11/2019 19:33

I'm just thinking. If I knew a person knowingly consorted with a convicted paedophile (quite apart from anything else) - I'd be very leery of having my young daughters around him, if I moved in the same circles as them.

Trentadoodoo · 17/11/2019 19:36

From the transcript

We now know that, at the time there was no indication to me or anybody else that that was what he was doing and certainly when I saw him either in the United States… oh no when I saw him in the United States or when I was staying in his houses in the United States, there was no indication, absolutely no indication. And if there was, you have to remember that at the time I was patron of the NSPCC's Full Stop campaign so I was close up with what was going on in those time about getting rid of abuse to children so I knew what the things were to look for but I never saw them.

I wonder what the NSPCC are thinking about being mentioned in his white wash endeavour.

SmileEachDay · 17/11/2019 19:41

I wonder what the NSPCC are thinking about being mentioned in his white wash endeavour

Given some of the NSPCC’s recent associations I don’t imagine they’re that bothered.

IcedPurple · 17/11/2019 19:42

I doubt any charity will touch him with a bargepole after this. He cannot continue to play a role in public life. The palace should issue a statement saying HRH the Duke of York is retiring from public life to deal with his non-sweating illness. Or something. Anything. Just get rid.

Doubleraspberry · 17/11/2019 19:43

Surely in his position as patron of the NSPCC he shouldn’t have stayed with a convicted sex offender in the first place?

BertrandRussell · 17/11/2019 19:45

“ I wonder what the NSPCC are thinking about being mentioned in his white wash endeavour.”

He’s fit right in, I imagine. At least he didn’t film himself wanking in their head office loos and publish the video on social media.....

Oblomov19 · 17/11/2019 19:45

Support? You are mad!

StoneofDestiny · 17/11/2019 19:55

I'd support Andrew being called to trial and cross examined under oath. I'd support him giving up all his royal privileges and tax funded income.

The odious worm is an embarrassment and a liar. He managed to get in his military service, his 'dutiful parenting', his work to promote British business interests and his post service health into the interview! This me first and last over privileged imbecile needs binned.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 17/11/2019 20:14

Surely in his position as patron of the NSPCC he shouldn’t have stayed with a convicted sex offender in the first place?

Well bingo. How did the incongruity of that not strike him 1) At the time of his visiting a convicted paedophile 2) mentioning his patronage of NSPCC in the interview

mbosnz · 17/11/2019 20:23

Well, gosh, us mere mortals, i.e. the hoi polloi, couldn't possibly understand, him being so honourable. . . what a load of pigwash.

YouTheCat · 17/11/2019 20:25

I reckon he's going to get worried and start naming names or he's just going to continue being an embarrassment. I give him 18 months before there's an 'unfortunate accident'.

doublebarrellednurse · 17/11/2019 20:28

Twitter is doing the best I've ever seen right now

#pizzaexpresswoking

Is amazing

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:34

Poor sod. I knew chaps who knew him. He was regarded as a very decent bloke. They were blokes who wpuld never have said anything nasty. Equally they'd have said nothing if there was nothing nice to say.

I believe him. Don't believe he's a disingenuos sort.

Alsohuman · 17/11/2019 20:35

Poor sod? You believe him @OhTheRoses? They’ve taken gullible out of the dictionary.

MarianaMoatedGrange · 17/11/2019 20:37

YouTheCat I thought too about some 'unfortunate accident' in the not too distant future.

ListeningQuietly · 17/11/2019 20:42

OhtheRoses
I knew chaps who knew him. He was regarded as a very decent bloke. They were blokes who wpuld never have said anything nasty. Equally they'd have said nothing if there was nothing nice to say.
Context please ?

as he was universally loathed in the Falklands
he is despised by all the royal staff
the British Council staff hate him
and from what I saw the other royals avoid him

so where did you meet the people who like him ?

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:42

Yes I do @Alsohuman. I am far from gullible but I do notice that whenever I'm on a thread you have something derogatory to say in response to whatever I have to say. I therefore assume, as I'm gullible, that whatever you say in response to menis personal rather than based on evidence

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:44

ListeningQuietly I'm hardly going to say on here. Fact rather than press misquotes. People who actually mixed with him and didn't bleat to the press because, you know, loyalty and the osa.

LolaSmiles · 17/11/2019 20:45

I believe him. Don't believe he's a disingenuos sort
Me too. It's so hard finding anyone who is sympathetic to someone maintaining friendships with convicted sex offenders who've admitted to enjoying sex with minors. It's just one of those unfortunate things. Epstein pleaded guilty, Prince Andrew cooled the friendship off by repeatedly visiting him.
It's all totally above board. There's no way Andrew could have known anything.

OhTheRoses · 17/11/2019 20:47

And how do you know he was universally loathed @listeningquietly? You know the people with whom he fought in the Falklands do you?
