I have breast cancer. It started as a lump, but because I was breastfeeding everyone believed it was a blocked duct.
It wasn’t until I told my GP my mum and grandma had both had BC they took me seriously.

When’d they scanned me the tumour was basically taking over my entire nipple.

I’ve had my lumpectomy. I’ve has rads. I’m taking tamoxifen at 30.

I’m about to start chemo (3.5 weeks) and can someone please tell me wtf

I'm so sorry. Sending positive vibes ❤️

Flowers OP, it truly is the shittiest of news.

I'm finding it infuriating how, if it's not something men get too, we get patronized and swept under the carpet until something like this happens, be it breast cancer, endometriosis, breast reduction, postpartum incontinence, you name it, if it doesn't happen to men, too bad, grin and bear it. Makes the steam come out of my ears!

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 16/11/2019 11:03

I have been where you are. Triple negative so no Tamoxifen for me (which is both a blessing and a curse), diagnosed at 33. Lumpectomy, 5 months of chemo and 4 weeks of rads.

It's shite and 2 years later I've probably still not dealt with it all properly but I guess we just keep on keeping on.

You will get through it.

The odds are very much in your favour.

You will get through it Flowers

Sorry to hear what you are going through. I've seen quite a few women develop breast cancer during or shortly after pregnancy. I think the thinking is that it can be fuelled by hormones. The treatment is tough but you have an excellent chance of beating it as treatment is so much better nowdays. Hope you have plenty of support.

Lifeisabeach09 · 16/11/2019 11:27

That's fucking shit, OP.
I'm sorry.

Sorry to hear your news. Its like being hit by a hammer and I’m just the husband of a sufferer.

14 years on and she’s fine - off swimming a mile at the pool.

The early days are the worst and what you go through both mentally and treatment wise is shitty.

If you’re in the NW/lakes look up paddlers for life windermere.

Hope all goes well for you.

Darling girl, how bloody awful for you. The medical attention you are getting is good and you are doing everything you need to do. It is just a mindfuck but know that you will have LOTS of support and love surrounding you as you go through this.
