I have breast cancer. It started as a lump, but because I was breastfeeding everyone believed it was a blocked duct.
It wasn’t until I told my GP my mum and grandma had both had BC they took me seriously.

When’d they scanned me the tumour was basically taking over my entire nipple.

I’ve had my lumpectomy. I’ve has rads. I’m taking tamoxifen at 30.

I’m about to start chemo (3.5 weeks) and can someone please tell me wtf

Mustard, of all the cancers BC has good outcomes, hang in there.

Wishing you all the best and the Mumsnet gang are with you.

OMGshefoundmeout · 16/11/2019 08:01

You sound very clued up so I’m sure you know all the facts and statistics but it’s still such a scary thing to go through particularly at this stage of your life. Like everyone else on here my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Flowers

Wimbledonmam · 16/11/2019 08:06

Have you looked up the Younger Breast Cancer Network on facebook? Amazing peer support through their private groups. I know because I have been there too. Thinking of you.

Straycatstrut · 16/11/2019 08:16

Get all the support available to you and fight that bastard with everything you have. Lots of love to you. Always puts everything in perspective. It's hard to know what to say, I'm not sure what I'd want saying to me to be honest.

WTF and all power to you for the fight. Keep in touch with us xx

Loveislandaddict · 16/11/2019 08:17

Wishing you all the best.

Breast cancer is a beast, but as Mustard says, it does have good outcomes.

Congratulations on your baby.

DorisDances · 16/11/2019 08:31

That is so unfair Mustard. Cheerleaders here on MN for a full recovery Flowers

LadyAllegraImelda · 16/11/2019 08:31

Flowers mustard, that is really shit. Wishing you strength to get through this for your little one xxx

Treaclepie19 · 16/11/2019 08:46

I'm so sorry. Wishing you all the best Flowers

Frazzled2207 · 16/11/2019 08:47

That is totally shit op I'm sorry.
Wishing you all the best. I hope you have supportive dp and family. The next few months will be tough but there is every chance of being able to put this behind you after that.

diddl · 16/11/2019 08:48

That is most definitely shit.

Did they not consider other things when the "blocked duct" didn't go away?

DogAndCatPerson · 16/11/2019 08:51

YANBU. That is utterly shite. Flowers and all the best for your recovery.

RainbowSlide · 16/11/2019 08:53

Fucks sake op that is just the shittest thing. Well done for pushing it, imagine if you didn't. Hope chemo goes as well as it can and you get rid of that shit.

IamHyouweegobshite · 16/11/2019 08:57

My dsis in law had bc, found in similar circumstances, her baby leant against breast, and she felt a weird pain. It was in the milk duct, but had also spread to the back of the breast, basically along the chest wall. She had a mastectomy, and goes for scans each year, but thankfully she is now cancer free. Good luck. Flowers

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 16/11/2019 08:58

That's so unfair. Wishing you all the best BiscuitThanksCake

40andfeelingit · 16/11/2019 09:04

Lovely, I’ve not read the whole thread but sending hugs.
Breast Cancer Care, or Breast Cancer Care Now as they now are run a service called Someone Like Me. Give them a call and they’ll arrange for someone who had the exact same treatment to ring you and talk and support you for as long as you want.
With the best love for Mumsnet it’s got to be better to take advice from those specially trained to do it. Peer support is amazing x

40andfeelingit · 16/11/2019 09:06

They also offer 2 day courses for women specially under 45, Younger Women Together, amazing to attend and realise you’re not on your own (and the youngest in the waiting room) x

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 16/11/2019 09:14

You're right Op it is the shittiest news. Am getting towards the end of my radiotherapy treatment after surgery for different cancer, but I am a lot older than you. It is particularly shitty for young Mums to go through this. Am sending you lots of love and hugs for the days ahead.

Jinxed2 · 16/11/2019 09:25

Sending love xxx that is utterly shit and unfair Flowers

Belledan1 · 16/11/2019 09:26

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 16/11/2019 09:29

Sorry to hear that. Hope your treatments go well Flowers

olivetreelane · 16/11/2019 09:31

So sorry op. Sending so much love Thanks

BlobbyTheLump · 16/11/2019 09:36

I'm sorry op. Cancer is a cunt.

Sending you all my love and strength.
Thanks

ZaraW · 16/11/2019 09:37

It's awful when you first get the news but gets a bit easier when a treatment plan is in place. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 38. I too had a lumpectomy, radiation and chemo. I've been on Tamoxifen for nearly ten years. Wishing you all the best.

Mollychristmas · 16/11/2019 09:41

Shitty news OP, I’m very sorry Flowers

Sending un-mumsnetty hugs.
