To be annoyed at DP getting a load of cash out?

DP went out last night on a works do in the city centre.

Went out at 6pm came back at 3.30am with a pizza, slept on sofa til 7 then came up to bed.
Pretty standard no issue

I've went in his wallet to get money out for a takeaway he wants and found £175 in cash, £10 and £5 notes.

He rarely has cash and work do's are always paid for, drinks food ect all night. There's no need to take money out other than a taxi.

I've thrown a strop and made him show me his banking and he withdrew £200.

He's got no explanation and I don't know wether I'm being unreasonable in being annoyed and overthinking things?

I don't know what's weirder about this thread, cash machines that dish out fivers or works dos that are paid for by an unspecified person/company. I've not experienced either, in living memory, just about.

At least he came home with the money he didn't spend, instead of losing it somewhere in his drunken confusion.

Oh, my pimp comment was light hearted

My controlling comments were not.

LeggyLinda · 15/11/2019 18:56

If you’re that worried ask him about it.
But my guess is that he used an ATM whilst worse for wear / tired and just hit one of the preset withdrawal options. Probably wanted the cash for taxi.
We’ve all been there and we’ve all done it.
The denominations is irrelevant and he can show receipt. I think you’re worrying unnecessarily.

You clearly have other signs or red flags if you are suspicious of such a mundane transaction - I would probably explore these first.

Your behaviour and attitude (including your responses to other posters) seem immature and weird to me.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 15/11/2019 18:59

But you still don't say what you're suspicious about?!

beautifulxdisasters · 15/11/2019 19:21

Why did you feel the need to "throw a strop"?

Those three words tell me you're not in a mature adult relationship tbh.

OnTheFenceWithMostViews · 15/11/2019 19:27

Plenty of machines give fivers..
I drew 100 last week and all fivers came out.. It was at a tesco express thing they're rbs cashpoints?
My local lloyds never really gives 20s for some reason either..

MrsKoala · 15/11/2019 19:48

Sainsburys, Santander and Halifax are notorious for fivers round here. The locals think it's normal but all of us ex London interlopers are wtf!?

MrsKoala · 15/11/2019 19:51

I'm still confused about what he could have possibly purposely changed money into fivers for tho? Gigalos G-strings? What tawdry thing do you specifically need a lady godiva for?

Bluerussian

Not really a mind like a sewer lol. Was trying to work out why op was anxious about the money Smile
Did follow up with brilliant reassuring idea that op's dh was getting money out for a lovely Christmas present for her. Hope second idea is right. Flowers
