To think this is not good news

My mum has had pains in her side for some time. She has been for xray,MRI and liver scan. The MRI was on her spine.
The MRI results went to her doctor this morning,he rang her and said she has to go in tomorrow and quote " take someone for moral.support" with her.
Am I right to fear the worst?

Not too god then, when you feel up to it can you say if they can treat at all?

I do know of a few who have had things like this but have survived! How old is you Mum can you say OP?.

Gazelda · 14/11/2019 13:51

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. My dad had a similar situation where he was complaining of back pain and it turned out to be metastatic cancer in the spine. We were not prepared at all. I think my dad had been suffering in silence for much longer than we had known. How has your mum taken the news? Thinking of you both Flowers

Myheadisamess31 · 14/11/2019 14:11

So sorry OP you are your mum are in my thoughts are prayers ❤

Kittykat93 · 14/11/2019 14:12

Very sorry to hear that op. My mum had breast cancer which spread to the spine. We had many happy years with her receiving treatment after her diagnosis. There are so many treatments that can help even if not cure. Sending best wishes

SirVixofVixHall · 14/11/2019 14:12

So sorry OP. I hope that they can treat her . I have a friend with cancer in her spine who has lived years longer than expected. She needs a stick and is in pain sometimes, but manages to still do all the things she enjoys. She was given under 12 months life expectancy, but is still here nearly six years later. The drugs have worked very well for her in keeping the cancer under control.

BlouseAndSkirt · 14/11/2019 14:26

Oh, that's hard, Brownie. Sorry to hear that.
