The new Clio ad, I bloody love it but DW thinks I’m being a sap...

Feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life for this one...

TheMidasTouch - THAT’s what you took away? Clio’s are for lesbians? Or women only?? 😅 I think you’re doing a deserving to men.
I’m managed to buy all cars all these years despite many of them being advertised using heterosexual families or sometimes, gasp, driven by only a man. I didn’t go, ah Lexus - driven by a Scandi looking guy across a frozen landscape. Must be a MANs car then.

I’m neither straight nor a man.

Tbf, the ad was just focussing on girls & women so that's why I took away that it's a girly car. I didn't really notice the look of the car or its features. I feel the story detracted totally from it being an ad for the product. A bit like a recent perfume ad where you didn't know until the end that it was for perfume.

I can't comment about the Lexus ad. I don't recollect ever seeing it.

I often switch off mentally and don't notice most ads anyway and only noticed the Renault because of the song. If I do notice them I tend not to like stories in them, except maybe the advert with the dog in it for Flash cleaning products. Even then, I just like the story and it wouldn't make me interested in the product but I'd like the dog. Smile Similar to the Renault ad, I noticed the story but not the product.

The Lexus ‘Ad’ was made up - an example of how I, a woman, am not put off a car or a brand because the ad shows a man I. The drivers seat... any more than Clio’s are now for lesbians, as you suggested, because they’ve featured a gay love story.
I like it, and I have warm fuzzy feelings for Renault as a result...

Sorry but I do not buy this virtue signalling tosh by these big companies.
