Doesn't matter if you think he's a cock, but he'll be remembered for a very long time. You've got to admire his tenacity.

He's a c*nt

nibdedibble · 11/11/2019 14:09

I mean overestimated. OVERestimated. Gah

HeresMe · 11/11/2019 14:12

He is currently in my town and I feel sick that the vermin is so close.

Like him or not, get a grip.

He is a prat though.

RuggerHug · 11/11/2019 14:13

He'll be remembered with the fondness with which Hitler,Myra Hindley and the Wests are remembered. Is that what you meant?

7Days · 11/11/2019 14:14

It's the simplest thing in the world to pander to peoples worst instincts.
Complaining from the sidelines doesn't take a genius.

Petrichor11 · 11/11/2019 14:15

YABU He’s far from a genius, he’s just a cock with a big mouth

I prefer to use “genius” to describe people who’ve actually DONE something tangible, all he’s ever been good at is self promoting

ErrolTheDragon · 11/11/2019 14:17

He's a demagogue of the worst type. Such people aren't 'political geniuses', they generally bring nothing but chaos and conflict.

longwayoff · 11/11/2019 14:19

There are far more appropriate terms for Farage. Genius isn't on the list.

Pukkatea · 11/11/2019 14:20

A political genius wouldn't have failed to be elected as an MP seven times.

JenniR29 · 11/11/2019 14:25

@ErrolTheDragon Thank you! I was wracking my brain trying to remember the word our history used to describe Hitler: demagogue.

Doesn’t require genius, you just need a lot a obscenely rich people to convince an angry mob that those who are different are the enemy instead of them.

nibdedibble · 11/11/2019 14:25

This is so true. If that is the world the OP wants to live in - well, Farage did a good job of revealing so many people to be total cunts at heart.

This thread is about Farage not Corbyn

Figmentofmyimagination · 11/11/2019 14:26

He’ll be remembered in the same spirit as Oswald Mosley, William Joyce and Enoch Powell are remembered. Nowhere near as bright as Powell though.

Considermesometimes · 11/11/2019 14:31

This development is going to make things VERY difficult for Labour now, it is going to be a car crash in the leave areas in the north.

Confusedbeetle · 11/11/2019 14:35

He has campaigned for Brexit and now is behaving in a way that could easily prevent it. I am just being pragmatic as am not keen on the vulgar insults, they say nothing except about the person using them. I dont like the man, am only commenting on his actions

longwayoff · 11/11/2019 14:35

Doesn't it cost £100 to join his fan club? Nice little earner for his Limited Company which is what his 'political party ' is. Must have a lot of cross and disappointed candidates. Grin

Sadly this ^

Maybe it’s deliberate. If Brexit happens he ceases to be politically relevant.

marshmellowed · 11/11/2019 14:42

Keanu Reeves is the same age as Nigel Farage. Don’t tell me you dont get the face you deserve

-Caroline Hirons

Absolutely brilliant and so so true

zonkin · 11/11/2019 14:45

Agree with @JenniR29. If the Tories get a majority and BoJo gets Brexit done with his deal then there is absolutely no need for the Brexit party. I think Farage was banking on the Tories doing a deal with him so he could get some nice well paid "statesman" type job

thecatsthecats · 11/11/2019 14:47

It's the simplest thing in the world to pander to peoples worst instincts.

Yep.

Our university seminar group were split in two and given the task on the one hand denying a genocide, and on the other claiming it happened.

I was on the denial side, and it was shockingly easy to do, without any instruction to tactics.

Yet people also assume that those who do it are very subtle, intelligent people.

Nope. It's really easy to do. The hard thing, and where the brilliance lies, is in restoring peace and justice.

ddl1 · 11/11/2019 14:48

DramaAlpaca: 'I can think of many words to describe Farage and 'genius' isn't one of them.'

If you precede it with the word 'evil' possibly!

Srictlybakeoff · 11/11/2019 14:48

He is a deeply unpleasant man - bigoted and narcissistic. Trump likes him - what does that say. They are at the same intellectual and emotional level.
He’s not clever or talented but is bankrolled by some very dubious people .Its outrageous that he has so much political clout given that he is unelected.

QuentinWinters · 11/11/2019 14:51

Maybe it’s deliberate. If Brexit happens he ceases to be politically relevant.
More than that, he loses his job as an MEP through which he gets a nice salary and fantastic pension.
