I can't stand cleaning the cats litter tray of making sodding pack lunches even though they only take a few minutes to do. What jobs do you hate doing?

OP posts:
mateysmum · 11/11/2019 09:03

Checking the tyres on my car.

Absolutely hate it even though I know I really ought to do it.

Ilovemypantry · 11/11/2019 09:04

Love this thread 💕. Thought it was just me that put off doing “stuff” until it can’t be left any longer. I can relate to nearly all PP but my main avoiders are - :
Putting fuel in the car
Emptying the dishwasher
Dealing with wet washing
Washing/drying hair
Washing the cats’ bowls (there’s always at least one soaking in the sink)

Nice to know I’m not alone 😊

StroppyWoman · 11/11/2019 09:12

Oh god, all of it. Especially cleaning the kitchen floor, which gets grubby again within 2 minutes

Newcatmum · 11/11/2019 09:15

Making packed lunch
Cooking dinner
Washing dishes
Hanging up wet washing
Putting clean washing away

I love cleaning but I hate tidying.

Howgreenwasmyvalley · 11/11/2019 09:28

I get Cravendale milk,,it doesn't have the plastic seal.Get a smart meter, you never have to read the meters again.

CTRL · 11/11/2019 09:30

Hanging out the washing

Also I really hate washing knives, forks and spoons. I’m ok washing plates and cups and bowls but once it gets to the cutlery I find it so tedious !

The80sweregreat · 11/11/2019 11:29

I've been put off smart meters. There was a discussion on radio two about them a while back about them messing up the broadband signals or something like that. People were ringing up moaning about them and it's put me off ever since.
Plus it's just another gadget to spy on us isn't it? Once they know his much we use in the home they will them say ' this is how much fuel you can have and no more!' ( just a conspiracy of mine. ) there's a reason they are being pushed I think!

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 11/11/2019 11:38

Putting air in the tyres especially if there's someone waiting behind me, I feel like I need to get a move on.

wanderings · 11/11/2019 11:49

@The80sweregreat Absolutely agree about smart meters: more trouble than they're worth, and of course they want to monitor us. I will only consider one if the fuel comes much cheaper than before. Ditto Alexa - it's not for our benefit at all!

OpportunityKnocks · 11/11/2019 11:51

Filling the car up with petrol. I don't know why, I live 30 seconds away and there is never a queue and it's never run out.

Malooha · 11/11/2019 12:01

Washing up. I actually enjoy doing everything else but I hate washing up.

Newbie1999 · 11/11/2019 12:12

I’ve been known to take 7-10 business days to put clean washing away.

Ilovemypantry · 11/11/2019 12:53

Are you sure you’re on the right thread?

HarrietTheFly · 11/11/2019 13:16

Changing the bed. It's a superking and usually has 3 of us in it but I'd rather be squashed in a normal sized bed that I could change easily than squashed in a superking bed (as DD tends to sleep horizontally the bigger bed makes little difference) that is an absolute nightmare to change.

JustDanceAddict · 11/11/2019 13:23

Emptying dishwasher, putting laundry away, it was making packed lunch but I don’t do that for anyone apart from me any more.

JustDanceAddict · 11/11/2019 13:27

Also drying hair but takes more than 5 mins...

dayslikethese1 · 11/11/2019 13:32

Sorting and rinsing recycling
Dealing with the food bin
Washing up
Making phone calls (rare now)
Cleaning bottom of fridge

dayslikethese1 · 11/11/2019 13:32

oh and cleaning teeth is so BORING

Elbowedout · 11/11/2019 13:59

Changing a bike inner tube. Punctures always happen when it is cold and wet and why is it always the back wheel?

kateandme · 11/11/2019 14:12

I love making pack lunches😶
Hate all other things I'm supposed to do that takes minutes.dishwasher.bed changing and mopping are horrid

pumpkintree · 11/11/2019 14:17

I hate packed lunches as they always come home in matter what I put in them. Also hate making drinks and cooking any food. I would live on cold non cooking stuff if I lived alone.

Also hate putting clean washing away.

wanderings · 11/11/2019 14:22

With a lot of the tasks listed here, the ones I resent most are the ones to do with giving money to somebody; such as refuelling, taking meter readings, accounts, replacing something that then has to be paid for.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 11/11/2019 14:25

Hoovering. It only takes a few minutes to do (small house) and the place looks so much better once it's done, but I rarely do it. Same with washing up, though I'm really slow at it so I have slightly more of an excuse to dislike it, but once I get started I don't mind doing it.

loobyloo1234 · 11/11/2019 14:26

Hoovering
Emptying the dishwasher
Putting shoes on that require me having to do laces up
Putting a new bin liner into my kitchen pedal bin (I hang a carrier bag over a draw handle sometimes instead)

I think i've found my people on this thread

The80sweregreat · 11/11/2019 15:04

Yes, On right thread. I mentioned that reading the meter was a chore for me and someone mentioned smart meters! I really don't want one as I've heard they are ' trouble' not sure why though!
