I can't stand cleaning the cats litter tray of making sodding pack lunches even though they only take a few minutes to do. What jobs do you hate doing?

OP posts:
Lolalime · 13/11/2019 13:32

Colouring my hair - the grey seems to grow faster than ever

Pairing socks!!! There are some at the bottom of the basket that haven’t been matched in weeks - where do they disappear to!

viccat · 13/11/2019 13:41

Opening post - especially dull things like bank statements and water bills, I physically hate opening those envelopes, they hurt my fingers

Washing the Brita water filter jug/changing the filter - such a faff taking it all apart

Also putting clean washing away but this is because I have too many clothes and not enough storage space so there's no easy way to put it away...

Crismelissarose · 13/11/2019 15:17

I agree with a lot of the jobs mentioned so far, but the one I hate with a vengeance is dealing with recycling jars, boxes, bottles and plastic bags etc

I hate hate hate trying to read/find the bit on packaging that tells you whether they can be recycled or not Angry (arhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!).

I hate cleaning all the jars, boxes, bottles before they go into recycling. This morning spent ages cleaning a nearly empty Nutella jar and peanut butter jar (worst jobs ever).

I know its worth it, but I avoid dealing with it so much that I just end up with a mountain of stuff to deal with on my kitchen counters every day.

The80sweregreat · 13/11/2019 15:23

Viccat , use a kitchen knife to slit the top of the envelopes! Makes life a bit easier as I hate opening them too. I have been known to just pull at the top and rip them open sometimes which isn't good! Lol

Lweji · 13/11/2019 15:49

I’m another one who also hates washing my hair. I’ve got a hell of a lot of it (reaches the middle of my back) (...) But needs must

You don't need to, you could have shorter hair.

Eventrider1 · 13/11/2019 15:55

@ParadeMeeting that is my favourite part of the day! I would wear them to work if I could 😂

Mine are the usual ones. I hate washing up with a passion. Me and DH take it in turns. I will leave it for as long as I can, even though I know it just piles up with more, so I end up washing 3 days worth rather than the one days worth if I had just done it when I was supposed to. Stupid really!

Also hate putting clothes away. Can't stand it but when I do do it, everything has to be in colour order which just takes ages.

Eventrider1 · 13/11/2019 15:57

Also, making a bed up. I love having clean sheets but I detest actually putting them on the bed and I normally never remember that I need to do it until I am ready to pass out asleep Angry

The80sweregreat · 13/11/2019 17:01

I hate most chores : it's how never ending it is. Day after day.
Can become tiring.

MisfitNinja · 13/11/2019 19:45

Drying and straightening my hair!! Takes me like 20 minutes but I hate it!

Changing the cat litter tray. Literally 3 minutes every other day.

My OH cooks his lunches for the week at work on a Sunday afternoon and I hate doing it with him. I wish he’d just take a ham sandwich like everyone else!! 🙈😂

The80sweregreat · 13/11/2019 19:50

Cooking is my bete noir!
I'd rather iron or clean the oven than cook anything. Has to be done etc etc but I don't get any joy from it. How people can love cooking is beyond me! Total chore.

Tinkobell · 14/11/2019 12:21

Veet-ing my bikini line because I have to hobbit round half dressed in the bathroom while the stuff ‘bakes’ when I’d rather just dive into a nice hot shower. Consequently the fanny zone is always overgrown ☹️

from123toabc · 14/11/2019 12:51

putting clean sheets on the bed... I love the result but it stresses me out

Toddlerteaplease · 14/11/2019 12:51

Putting clean clothes away/ I don't mind ironing but hate putting it away!

Toddlerteaplease · 14/11/2019 12:53

My cats litter tray is non negotiable as the little bugger doesn't bury her poo so it stinks the house out!

Susiesoap7 · 14/11/2019 13:04

Everything,just everything!

MiniMum97 · 14/11/2019 13:10

I don't think I should start listing. I'll take up the whole thread!

Loveislandaddict · 14/11/2019 14:18

Going to bed. I like being in bed, but it’s the whole process of locking the doors, turning the lights off, etc, then getting ready for bed. Sometimes I can’t just be bothered. Obviously I do, but sometimes I end up dawdling on the iPad, or watching some trash reality tv programme, rather than starting the whole going-to-bedroutine.

NoSauce · 14/11/2019 14:29

God yes to going to bed. I lie on the sofa wishing I could transport up to bed. Hate letting the dog out for a wee, locating the cat, locking up and making sure everything is turned off etc.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 14/11/2019 14:31

Putting petrol in the car.
Folding dried washing from the tumble dryer.
Putting said washing away/hanging it up in wardrobes

Stravapalava · 14/11/2019 14:38

Emptying the dishwasher, definitely!

Casiloco · 14/11/2019 20:41

I'm glad I'm not the only one - I LOATHE washing and - even worse - then having to BLOW DRY my hair.

I try and get away with doing it only twice a week.

I'm completely baffled by people who do this EVERY DAY,!!!!

SnugglySnerd · 14/11/2019 21:07

I really loathe getting the dcs ready to go out. I have a 5 yo and 2 yo twins. In summer it's all the bloody suncream and now it's coats, gloves, wellies etc. It probably takes about 5 mins to get them all ready but it feels like a chore.
It's no better going in the car with all the car seats to fasten. By the time I've got all 3 plus the double buggy and all our stuff in the car and got it all put again at our destination I'm shattered!

Cutting their nails is another job I hate.

Swisskit · 14/11/2019 21:22

@candle1000 you need one of these www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-remote-control-wall-plugs/p/0343066

yolofish · 14/11/2019 21:59

Duvet covers with sodding buttons rather than poppers. Why do manufacturers do this? Do they have some stupid idea that buttons imply luxury? Why on earth cant you find out whether buttons or poppers before you buy the sodding thing? It would be easy to say on the packet...

draughtycatflap · 14/11/2019 22:03

Summoning the energy last thing at night to say “Alexa, goodnight” to turn off the lights and heating. 😴
