I can't stand cleaning the cats litter tray of making sodding pack lunches even though they only take a few minutes to do. What jobs do you hate doing?

OP posts:
Icanflyhigh · 12/11/2019 19:07

Dishwasher, putting clean clothes away, emptying the bin, lunch boxes, emptying lunch boxes.....

Namechangeoflife · 12/11/2019 19:07

Making packed lunches. Brushing my teeth and wrapping Christmas presents.
I love gift wrapping but hate wrapping Christmas presents

The80sweregreat · 12/11/2019 19:07

For plug hole hair in the bath buy a hair catcher.! You still have to clean it out/ wash it etc but my hair curls neatly around it and it's easier to deal with. Great invention for showers.

Gingerninja01 · 12/11/2019 19:09

Putting away clean washing
DUSTING!!!! I hate dusting

M2B19 · 12/11/2019 19:13

Grating the cheese!

EdWinchester · 12/11/2019 19:15

Brushing my teeth. My toothbrush times it in quadrants and it takes aeons. I do squats and lunges to pass the time.

Cleaning the lint filter on the tumble dryer.

Putting petrol in my car.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 12/11/2019 19:15

Doing the online shop - I always get distracted and take forever.
Bringing in the online shop - I hate waiting for the man then struggling to unpack it into bags now they don't have any. They never pack the shopping right and put heavy things in with light crushable things so you have to pack multiple bags at a time and the driver always stands there and shuffles on his feet like I'm holding him up when there's only me for it, he doesn't/won't help and I'm going as quick as I can!
Unloading the dishwasher. Been known to wash it through twice because I really don't want to unload it.
Hanging up washing. I love watching it all blowing in the breeze in summer but if it's in the house? hate it.
Picking up the dog poo. Ugh. Have to do it but hate doing it and will put it off until I absolutely can not put it off anymore.
Taking out the rubbish/recycling.
Changing the bedding. Ugh, such a struggle. I love winter bedding so much, love snuggling down and even putting the electric blanket on.... hate putting bedding on the actual bed though. Grin

Gbtch · 12/11/2019 19:17

Absolutely all of the above!
Plus cleaning hubby’s wee drips off the toilet floor because he flatly refuses to accept they are his.

junejay21 · 12/11/2019 19:19

Getting petrol

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 12/11/2019 19:20

Changing the toilet roll.
Emptying the bin and putting the rubbish out.
Putting clean washing away (currently have piles of clean washing in my living room waiting to be sorted and organised - promised myself it’s wednesday afternoon’s job!).
Clearing the funky hair/dirt/slime from the bath plug hole - it’s satisfying but fucking gross!
Shaving any part of my body. I do it, because I like how it feels after, but usually wait until my son has commented on my “bearded minnie” in a busy public toilet (happened at the London baby show a few weeks ago and I could hear all the other women in the stalls or waiting to go, absolutely cracking up!) or when I have a midwife appointment (21wks pregnant) just in case!
Changing my bed sheets. I wash them once a week or more often sometimes, and have spares, but often go days without putting clean ones on and sleep on a bare mattress... it’s more something I’ve begun to hate since being pregnant again coz I can’t move this time AND my DP ran off with OM (yes, other man) just after I happily announced I was pregnant... so I am struggling a bit with some everyday type chores... like breathing lol!
I have to say, I am so glad my DS (4yrs) school provide all school lunches and drinks and everything like that - I couldn’t be doing a packed lunch everyday!!!!! Find it hard enough doing a packed lunch for him on a Sunday for dance school let alone every single day - you women are mum goals and I take my lazy hat off to you!!!

NaviSprite · 12/11/2019 19:21

Hoovering the living room rug as it’s always covered with cat hair and food crumbs by the next day (4 cats and twin toddlers are a bugger to clean up after every day).

Washing pots causes my atopic dermatitis to go mental so my fingertips end up looking as though I’ve put them through a shredder 😩

Separating my recycling and bottles etc - I do it every evening but my neighbours just chuck everything in their domestic waste bins so I wonder why I bother but can’t bring myself not to 😂

floraloctopus · 12/11/2019 19:21

Washing up. Nobody else does it so it's always left to me.

Hydrogenbeatsoxygen · 12/11/2019 19:21

I hate putting petrol in the car!

di2004 · 12/11/2019 19:23

Using my mobile phone, I hate it - I’m just not good with phones arrrrggghhhh ... great thread tho x

Youmakemewannashout · 12/11/2019 19:31

Cleaning up cat sick,
Plucking my eyebrows,
De fuzzing my hairy legs.

didedonglydee · 12/11/2019 19:34

Urgh basically everything housework related!

Cleaning dishwasher filter and putting salt in - beyond rank

Hanging out washing. Isn't it enough that I sort it and put it in the machine.

Emptying the fridge of out of date stuff

Drying my hair.

Filling up the car with petrol - soooo boring

Changing the sheets

I used to have a cleaner who'd do a lot of these (not my hair or car obviously!!) but have had to cut back so it's back to earth with a bump. Telling myself it's satisfying. It's not!!

JemSynergy · 12/11/2019 19:35

Pretty much everything everyone else has said!

mumwon · 12/11/2019 19:36

getting bank statements & bills & income invoices to send off to the accountant (I am so disorganised) for them to do tax

SynchroSwimmer · 12/11/2019 19:39

Checking the tyre pressures...

devuskums · 12/11/2019 19:44

I have found that if I do jobs I hate first I am pleasantly surprised... it's hard to explain, but say for example when I change the bed the worst part for me is the duvet cover. If I do that first (always used to do it last) I sort of forget I have done it and am pleasantly surprised when I get to that part (again) as it is already done! It may be something to do with my shocking memory though...

JenniferM1989 · 12/11/2019 19:45

Removing the hair from the bath plug 🤮🤮🤮

Mangobluesky · 12/11/2019 19:46

Getting ready for bed - when I’m tired but I need to take out my contact lenses, brush my teeth and take my make up off! Such an effort but only takes a couple of minutes!

Tubbymummy44 · 12/11/2019 19:46

I hate having to make packed lunches too. I agree with the pp who said about taking the plastic lid bit off milk, and ketchup too. Not a fan of changing the litter tray either tbh. Putting the recycling our, emptying the little food caddy does my head in.

Deyes999 · 12/11/2019 19:50

Taking the teabag out of a cup of tea

di2004 · 12/11/2019 19:52

Oh and making hubby’s bait ( packed lunch) just because he can’t be arsed!
