I can't stand cleaning the cats litter tray of making sodding pack lunches even though they only take a few minutes to do. What jobs do you hate doing?

OP posts:
crosstalk · 12/11/2019 14:57

Filing. Filling in tax forms. Changing duvets ... may go back to sheets and blankets. Shopping - except for food.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 12/11/2019 15:25

Making the bed. Haaaaate it.

SnugglySnerd · 12/11/2019 15:28

Making a sandwich or toast.
Changing the bed sheets.
Cleaning shoes.

I quite like folding and putting away laundry though!

Time40 · 12/11/2019 15:36

I just hate most of it.

Putting petrol in the car

Apart from this one. I l-o-v-e feeding the car. I like caring for her, and I love the smell of petrol (not so keen on the enormous financial cost, though).

pigsDOfly · 12/11/2019 15:36

Also hate changing the bed. It only takes a short time and I love having clean be linen. Every time I do it I wonder why I hate it so much.

Cleaning my teeth. All the flossing, brushes between the teeth and standing there while the toothbrush - electric - does it stuff. It's so incredibly tedious and it has to be done twice a day; don't floss twice a day, obviously unless I'm going to the dentist.

MerryDeath · 12/11/2019 15:39

anything i have to put rubber gloves on for. which is most jobs, anything wet, anything with 'chemicals' of any kind, as I'm very ~precious. but also hate putting rubber gloves on. once they are on - fine. but i've got a texture aversion and it affects how i do many things.

Belfield · 12/11/2019 15:41

cleaning my bellybutton. I have an innie and have to use cotton buds and it just annoys me! disgusting I know.

Cobblersandhogwash · 12/11/2019 15:44

All housework. Hate it.

timeforawine · 12/11/2019 15:47

Hanging out wet laundry, i somehow always drop an item of clothing or pegs into the lawn Angry
Washing the dishes that can't go in the dishwasher, hands go all dry and i hate hand cream, also hate rubber gloves as my hands smell afterwards
Emptying bins and putting new bin bags in
Feeding the cats, one never shuts up and i usually end up with cat food jelly water/gravy on my hand [vom]
Stripping and making beds, but worth it when done, same with hanging out the laundry
Drying and straightening my hair, its thick and fluffy and takes ages Angry

timeforawine · 12/11/2019 15:49

Mopping the damn floor, our lino is patterned so your not 100% sure whats pattern and whats dirt, need new flooring.
Love hoovering though :-)

MerryDeath · 12/11/2019 16:02

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz omg yes i always put it off til it's critical. haven't been caught out yet but truly asking to be!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2019 16:14

Thought of another one: getting cash out for the very few things these days that require cash. I go to a fitness bootcamp and it's cash only and I actually hate getting the cash out more than I hate the burpees in the rain and mud at 8am and being shouted at by a soldier.

It seems like such a chore to have to exchange the details for the requisite bits of 'magic iou paper', always involves a parking issue or a queue or some other hassle. And then the person I pay has to go back to the bank and pay it all back in. Such a waste of life.

LittleSweet · 12/11/2019 16:15

Hoovering
Ironing
Taking out the rubbish (Dh does it !)😳
My ds1 (15) has just started making his own lunches as I can't be bothered to make sandwiches for him to put in the bin. I make sausage rolls and stuff like that and cake, so not difficult for him.

Does nagging my 15 year old to do homework count as a chore I hate?

formerbabe · 12/11/2019 16:29

@thenewaveragebear1983
Ha, I thought I was the only one...I detest getting cash out. I ummed and ahhed for ages whilst shopping today about whether I could be bothered to go to the cash point...I did, it took about 15 seconds!

MissLadyM · 12/11/2019 16:38

I HATE taking my make up off, emptying the dishwasher, hanging up washing to dry, changing the bed and cleaning the bathroom. They all take minutes but I hate them!

MepsiPax · 12/11/2019 17:23

Cleaning out the cat's litter tray.
Hanging up washing.
Putting shopping away.

GooodMythicalMorning · 12/11/2019 17:27

Mopping the bathroom floor

QueSera · 12/11/2019 17:36

Putting clean clothes away. For some reason, I'd rather move the heap from my bed, to the floor or top of dresser, to bed, to floor/dresser etc a couple of times every day, for weeks days, than simply fold/hang them.

Windowboxgardener · 12/11/2019 17:40

Washing up
Emptying the dishwasher
Changing the hoover filter
Doing my tax return

TheFabulist · 12/11/2019 17:42

All housework. Mind-numbing; soul-destroying. Put it off all the time...

AllStarBySmashMouth · 12/11/2019 17:48

Honestly anything that involves moving off the couch. Going to the bathroom is a chore in itself.

Swedetalker · 12/11/2019 17:49

Pairing up socks.

MummyShah369 · 12/11/2019 17:55

Emptying the food rubbish

VenusTiger · 12/11/2019 18:03

@SalemShadow school dinners.
@FarmerFrump Grin so true! I huff and puff as I do it lol.

For me it’s clearing the table after breakfast which I often leave till mid afternoon Blush and putting clean clothes away.

Lweji · 12/11/2019 18:10
