I can't stand cleaning the cats litter tray of making sodding pack lunches even though they only take a few minutes to do. What jobs do you hate doing?

OP posts:

TLDR

Did anyone mention changing bedding? How about emptying bins? Mowing the lawn? Getting the shopping in?

ahhgoongoongoonhaveacupoftea · 12/11/2019 11:00

I do them anyway but I do hate
. Unloading the dishwasher
Washing a dirty pan
Hanging clothes to dry
Cleaning the loo

Ilovemypantry · 12/11/2019 11:02

@nornironrock
What is TLDR?

Thestrangestthing · 12/11/2019 11:05

Packed lunches and putting washing away. I don't even pair socks any more, have one big drawer they all get dumped in there and they can all hunt for their own socks Grin.

Too long, didn't read

For me it’s anything that should be a quick job but isn’t because of the various stages required to get to the point of doing that job. So for example, mopping the floor is fine, but having to pick all the crap up that everyone has left lying around - baby toys, toddler toys, hair bands, slippers, a notebook, a glove... then sweep or vacuum up the crumbs, hair, and stray Cheerios THEN pick up more toys the baby has got out in the meantime and only then can I actually do the mopping. And even then you have to pause to move various bits of furniture etc.

Cleaning the bathroom, fine. Having to move everyone’s shampoo, shower gel, flannels, dd1’s hairbands, pick up the clothes they’ve left on the floor 😡

Emptying the dishwasher, not too bad a job. But if I’m last down in the morning and various people made snacks or drinks after it went on last night, and then there’s everyone’s breakfast dishes left all over the kitchen and crumbs and tea rings everywhere I find just emptying the dishwasher overwhelming.

Hanging washing up, don’t mind it. But becomes a big task if there’s already a load hanging up that I need to take down and fold and put away in order to be able to hang up the load that needs hanging.

Basically I am easily overwhelmed and everyone else in my family is a lazy wotsit.

ginforthewin4 · 12/11/2019 12:54

Emptying the dishwasher, emptying toaster crumbs, cleaning out the fire, putting washing away, cleaning the floors a million times a day (thanks white tiles), putting groceries away, HATE putting a duvet cover on a duvet... it gives me such a rage, tidying toys away (looks like it will take hours when really its very easily all shoved in a box), stopping at the shop with 2 screaming kids to run in and get milk, feeding the cat, cleaning bathroom sinks covered in toothpaste, tanning.......

Wow I am miserable Hmm

ginforthewin4 · 12/11/2019 12:57

I have to add I probably wouldnt mind any of these if they where not such a regular occurence. Grin

havingtochangeusernameagain · 12/11/2019 13:01

Cleaning my teeth. I have a two minute timer on my toothbrush and it's the longest two minutes in the world...

Also agree with having to open new things like milk bottles and get the plastic seals off etc.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 12/11/2019 13:03

Putting shoes on that require me having to do laces up

Are you my ds? He tells me off if I undo his shoe laces. So much easier for him to squeeze his feet into shoes with tied-up laces!

ImAwfulWithUsernames · 12/11/2019 13:07

Unloading the dishwasher Angry
Hanging up washing to dry
Making the sandwich for packed lunch

Rainyrain · 12/11/2019 13:09

Packing lunches!

Magicpaintbrush · 12/11/2019 13:10

Pelvic floor exercises. So tedious.

yolofish · 12/11/2019 13:15

All of this stuff. Groundhog Day. And no bugger ever really notices anyway!

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 12/11/2019 13:18

Everything. Literally everything. I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes.

It's like if I have to do it, I immediately don't want to 😆

Loneranger14 · 12/11/2019 13:21

Touching raw meat it makes me squirm, also when the kids don't scrap all there leftover food off there plate probably and I have to fish the food from the plug hole, are my 2 aboustley pet hates any other house work I don't mind.
Oh and when they don't wash there plates straight away or at least put them in the sink to soak so I have to spend ages scrubbing the food of the plates

Loneranger14 · 12/11/2019 13:23

When DH or DC drink milk or juice straight from the carton as there to lazy to get a cup

justmyview · 12/11/2019 13:23

Planning what to cook, and thinking what to make with half a tub of creme fraiche or whatever's left over from last night

soupforbrains · 12/11/2019 13:23

@thatwasMauijustmessingaround oh god this is what I really wanted to write when I posted before but I didn't want to admit it!

ALL things housework, garden or home maintenance related in particular... ugh....

I even hate shaving my armpits (but feel horrible and sticky without them shaved) It is literally my personal choice and for my own comfort and yet I still hate it.

*It's like if i have to do it, I immediately don't want to" yep. Exactly this.

Whatjusthappenedthere · 12/11/2019 13:27

Going to the loo. Hate having to stop what I’m doing . Blush

CookPassBabtridge · 12/11/2019 13:29

Emptying bin! The kitchen bag always gets stuck as so full but only takes a minute to sort. I cram in as much rubbish as I can to avoid emptying it, which then makes the job much harder Grin
I love hoovering.

AdalindMeisner · 12/11/2019 13:32

Packed lunches

Putting the pots away

Putting washing away which wouldn't take long except I procrastinate so ends up taking 10 times as long as there is so much by then.
Matching socks (see washing above, same thing happens)

JovialNickname · 12/11/2019 13:34

Drying and styling my hair. I only do it once a week and it only takes 15 minutes but I still hate it. I just look in the mirror and think oh no, not you again Grin

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 12/11/2019 14:44

@soupforbrains ha! I'll literally avoid and procrastinate doing anything. In fact, I only do things when I'm procrastinating from doing something else.

Right now, I should be in the shower getting ready to go out so I'm not in a flap later as I have a bus to catch. But instead, I've done the dishwasher and washed/dried a load of washing 🤷🏻‍♀️.

abouttime2 · 12/11/2019 14:54

Putting petrol in the car.
