I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant - had one cup of tea which seems to have generated the biggest ever burp 😳

Yesterday I ate half a chocolate cake and pickled onions for dinner ... today my boobs feel like they've gone up a cup size !
Please tell me the best parts of pregnancy are to come?

Second trimester was the most fun IMO.
Food cravings and massive boobs aren’t that bad to baby kicking your ribs and suffering insomnia for weeks...sorry OP

Perhaps others have better experiences as I didn’t really enjoy pregnancy.

Honeybee85 · 08/11/2019 06:47

*aren’t that bad compared to

2020bump · 08/11/2019 06:49

This is my first baby the pregnancy was so unexpected I'm loving it - can't wait to show off huge belly next spring!! I never thought I'd get pregnant so I'm going to enjoy every minute!

@2020bump

That’s lovely, enjoy it and ofcourse congratulations 🎉

Kay1341 · 08/11/2019 06:53

I think there's (wrongly) a big fuss to enjoy pregnancy because it's 'a special time'. Some do, but the truth is that growing a a teeny human comes with a lot of bodily changes which in any other circumstances wouldn't be seen as pleasant. I didn't have morning sickness, but I still don't miss feeling huge, walking funny, finding it hard to breathe and sleeping like shit.

Kay1341 · 08/11/2019 06:55

(But it's great you're enjoying it, forgot to add my congratulations!)

2020bump · 08/11/2019 06:57

Thanks Kay I never thought I'd get pregnant so this was a massive surprise!

Ford trimester was my least favourite , 2nd trimester much better enjoyed it a little 3rd not too bad but from 21 weeks I didn’t sleep
Longer than 45 min stunts due to hip
Pain ... baby now 11 months and I am still waiting for that solid 8 hours I used to get ... guessing another 3 years to
Go, but totally amazing! Your growing a little human!! Big congratulations 🥳

stitchwitch85 · 08/11/2019 07:04

I love being pregnant despite the hip and pelvis pain, sciatica, the heartburn, being unable to breathe properly, the waddling and hobbling, the insomnia, the sheer exhaustion…I can feel my darling and much wanted baby moving away inside me and he is frankly the centre of my world, literally as well as figuratively! It's a super time, and while I won’t miss the physical symptoms I love the fact of them, because they are proof that my little boy is on his way.

Sounds stupidly romantic but I’m not really a soppy person, just madly in love with the human being I’m growing ❤️

Alarae · 08/11/2019 07:06

I am glad someone is enjoying pregnancy!

While mine isn't the worst out there, I suffered horrible nausea for 20 weeks and even this week (24 weeks) something I ate set me off and promptly came back up Sad

I've been an emotional mess at times and I can't walk/amble for more than a few hours before hip/lower back pain starts to kick in.

Had weird cravings for chocolate cereal this week though. Gave me a fab excuse to eat a horrendous amount of Coco Pops and Krave cereal all the time, lol.

2020bump · 08/11/2019 07:08

Thank you I just love finally having boobs and a tummy, a bigger appetite , love doing massive burps Grin

I loved being pregnant. Just found out this week I’m expecting again. Hope pregnancy is a smooth ride again.

Glad someone is enjoying it, congratulations.

I'm 10 weeks and feel absolutely horrible, have barely been to work for the past month as sickness/nausea is horrendous all day and I feel so hungover (I'm not, obviously). I can't sleep, my boobs ache so bad, I'm going to take out shares in Gaviscon and I feel dizzy at just the thought of getting out of bed.

This is my second pregnancy and although the first was not this bad, I still hated it. The best bit is feeling the baby move. Except at 2am when you're trying to sleep...mine always had a party at night time.

2020bump · 08/11/2019 07:25

Just eaten massive bowl of porridge really enjoyed it loads of massive burps lol hardly ever burped before I was pregnant!!

I enjoyed both pregnancies. I found that if I scratched my belly, the baby moved as if I was tickling them

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 08/11/2019 07:48

I genuinely think the only thing I like about being pregnant is feeling him kick. The rest just hasn't been for me. However I don't have long left until I meet him. My section date should be around 2 weeks from now.
I put a lot of pressure on myself to enjoy being pregnant because this baby is so wanted and we had a long road to get here. However when SPD kicked in at 10 weeks I came to the realisation that I can love this baby so much and still not like being pregnant. And as his bowling ball of a head sits in my crotch and makes walking almost impossible that about sums it up.

priceofprogress · 08/11/2019 08:21

Congrats!

I LOVE being pregnant (current 34wk with my first), the only downside so far was the incredible degree of fear and anxiety I felt during the first trimester, which was really out of character for me. I went from being a pretty chill person with no anxiety/very low tendency to worry, to being an absolute wreck. It was the constant fear around whether or not the baby would survive, the not knowing, etc.

Other than that I’m so delighted to have been able to get pregnant I’ve honestly loved every single symptom, even the unpleasant ones haha. I’m the weirdo who loved vomiting cos it was a physical sign of this tiny baby and that my HCG levels were high! I would be sick out of the car window and have the biggest smile on my face knowing I was only throwing up because I had a tiny baby the size of a raspberry inside me and I felt and still feel so incredibly lucky.

I think the weirdest most unexpected symptom has been cramping in my calf, never had a cramp before in my life so it was really weird waking up from a deep sleep to my muscles being in a tight excruciating ball haha. Also the breast soreness really early on! Pretty much from implantation, so painful I couldn’t hug anyone and if I rolled onto them at night the pain woke me up!

The insomnia sucks and that’s been present pretty much the whole time but man, it’s worth it. I wanted a baby so badly and couldn’t imagine ever being able to conceive (endometriosis, blocked tube) so even though pregnancy has been a lot harder physically than I anticipated, it’s amazing. Best thing ever.

priceofprogress · 08/11/2019 08:24

I’m still being sick btw at 34 weeks 😂 like okay baby thanks, I feel you move all the time now, you don’t need to prove to me you’re there by making me sick haha.

It’s all so amazing, I still can’t believe my body is capable of growing another human. I’m gonna miss being pregnant and having this belly full of arms and legs. Third trimester is definitely the best so far having a huge belly to show off and being so close to the end, I savour every day now instead of desperately wishing it to move faster so I had better chance of it ending well. Absolutely adore pregnancy even though it’s been physically and mentally very difficult.

ShirleyPhallus · 08/11/2019 08:26

I am so so glad to be pregnant, but the actual act of being pregnant is pretty rubbish. I can’t believe how much unlike me I feel. The physical symptoms, migraines and sciatica. And knowing that my body is literally never going to be the same again.

It is made worth it by the baby wriggling around inside though, I can’t believe how much I can’t wait to meet him!

priceofprogress · 08/11/2019 08:27

Also I’ve found people look at me like I’ve got two heads if they ask how I’m finding pregnancy and I say I love it 😂 I’ve spoken to quite a few women who really dread it cos all they hear is about how awful it is. Which I know if is for lots of people, but I guess you don’t hear much from people who are enjoying every minute.

Kittenbittenmitten · 08/11/2019 08:42

I loathe being pregnant. I have straightforward pregnancies compared to many women but have found constant reflux since the second trimester a challenge. Gaviscon is effective but unhappily has a nauseating wet chalk texture. I'm nearly there and am fantasizing baby may come q bit early.
I'm always a bit Hmm at women who say they loved being pregnant. Not something I can relate to at all!

I hate all the bloody comments too. "You're huge. Can't be long til maternity leave now." "You're quite small." "Bumps dropped" "Can pregnant women eat that?" "Haven't had that baby yet?"

tangled2 · 08/11/2019 08:59

I found pregnancy worse than labour. Couldn't really walk for the last few months. Hated it! The baby is good though. Glad you're enjoying it, congratulations!
