Just for fun

OP posts:
MaybeitsMaybelline · 06/11/2019 04:43

I love CF and parking threads.

I hate the ones so trivial I wonder who is sad enough to post them.

IDontWantToCookTonight · 06/11/2019 04:44

“Ban fireworks”

Ugh.

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/11/2019 05:06

Threads about some z lister I’ve never heard of. Eg AIBU to think sally and steve look fabulous together. Cue gasps from a few posters and a load of “who the eff Is that posts”.

Westminstenders threads, where you try to join with your clearly inferior knowledge (so you can learn more) but are ignored. Thus a group within a group.

Threads, which are clearly follow ons with lots of gags with no references, where no one posts links to the previous thread.

Basically any thread, where the OP doesn’t bother to explain wtf they are talking about to other mumsnetters. I don’t like being talked down to and excluded.

VanyaHargreeves · 06/11/2019 05:23

To be honest @Mummyoflittledragon

Unless the thread is generic chatter between regulars who've bonded over a shared interest I tend to see a thread goes on to multiple follow ons as a signifier that it's a work of fiction

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/11/2019 05:27

@VanyaHargreeves
I do also wonder this myself.

Brickswithstones · 06/11/2019 05:28

How old do I look, picture included

Any question using the word ' chav' - is this name chavvy? Is this outfit chavvy?

What makes one middle class?

Elf on the shelf

Obligatorync · 06/11/2019 05:42

AIBU to ask you all to...
AIBU to tell you about...

Always some patronising crap.

BlouseAndSkirt · 06/11/2019 05:53

The “Is this racist?” routine, as admirably documented by JasminaPashmina , with extra points where the phrase ‘professionally offended’ is used.

sall74 · 06/11/2019 06:01

I've made some poor life choices... what benefits am I now entitled to?

TheLittleDogLaughed · 06/11/2019 06:08

Anything starting “poor dd” / “poor ds” which usually goes on to be about some petty exclusion from a sleepover / party with the other child depicted as having a satanic psycho intent and the poster’s child angel with a broken heart. I just hate it when people make their kids into victims.

Alicewond · 06/11/2019 06:10

The constant am I pregnant? Do you see a line?

Shockers · 06/11/2019 06:11

The smug grammar threads.

Lilyflower1 · 06/11/2019 06:14

Political ones where hatred is vented on Conservatives (always depicted as ‘Tories’) or ‘Maggie Thatcher’. The tone and words would be interpreted as hate crime were it directed at a group named in the Equalities Act.

I live in a solid blue area with an 80ish per cent Conservative vote. People here are pleasant, good, polite, responsible, hardworking, law abiding and tax paying. They help each other and go over and above to keep the environment well above an ordinary standard, they people the local institutions, they volunteer and give to charity. They make eye contact and greet others in the street.

It always seems to me that scapegoaters are willing to take the efforts that these good people make but then abuse them. Reverse snobbery is as bigoted as snobbery.

These comments come up on many political or social threads but, scapegoating being what it is, are bizarrely shoehorned into others which have little to do with politics. The Brexit debate has shown these comments up for what they are as Brexiteers are irrationally and against the evidence identified with and as ‘Tories’ when all the polling publicity has revealed the Conservatives are split on Brexit.

I expect I will be flamed for writing this and it will all be ‘Maggie’s’ fault. Even though she has been dead for six years.

Freddiemercuarysmoustache · 06/11/2019 06:15

Can you see a line... no line visible and everyone commenting congratulations.

The2Ateam · 06/11/2019 06:17

Catering for vegan/allergy:Kosher/Muslim/child but it’s really a post slagging them off and how dare they not want to eat reformed animal paste sandwiches at my child’s party.

SpeckledyHen · 06/11/2019 06:21

How can people afford ....
How much do you earn...

Shutupseaguls · 06/11/2019 06:23

The ones where the op is struggling as their husband has walked out left them with nothing and they are struggling to house and feed their children that always have someone come on to tell them that "they should have thought about this before they had children".

Should I call an ambulance?

What are your unpopular opinions? Guaranteed to bring out the nastiest of people.

AJPTaylor · 06/11/2019 06:29

Is my sister bu?
Followed by 8 paras describing minute and trivial detail complaining about dsis judging them whilst being judgmental about dsis.
I'm sure it's therapeutic to write down. Just don't publish it.

Loosenisous · 06/11/2019 06:31

The ones where idiots repeat themselves over words/expressions/phrases/bad grammar they hate.

These threads occur with ridiculous frequency.

wanderings · 06/11/2019 06:32

AIBU to think this is a bit grim/crass/shit/off?
AIBU to be livid?
AIBU not to answer the door?
AIBU to cancel my DC's birthday party? (Some OPs are draconian with this, and I don't just mean the recent thread.)
AIBU to think that xyz is a CF?
AIBU to LTB because he looked at me in a way I don't like?

PulpPixie · 06/11/2019 06:32

Threads by obvious Labour bots

slipperywhensparticus · 06/11/2019 06:36

"Gender" scan like a foetus has an idea of social constructs

wanderings · 06/11/2019 06:37

Also the threads moaning about neighbours' cats.
And the ones where you know the first few replies will be "interesting first post", "0/10", Biscuit, etc.

billandbenflowerpotmen1 · 06/11/2019 06:38

Is this abuse?
No it's perfectly healthy to live with someone who punches you and calls you a cunt, particularly in front of your children

RantyAnty · 06/11/2019 06:39

The huge drip feed ones. Just spit it out already.

wall of text

I've known this guy 5 minutes and I'm unexpectedly pregnant and he disappeared.
