Bwahahaha! Just heard a new term on Colbert....y'all have 'Brexit' and with the impeachment hearings coming up we (hopefully) will have a 'Trexit'.

OP posts:
Lweji · 07/11/2019 19:31

Not Truexit?

I hope it doesn't get constant postponements, though.

Trump rally:

Senator John Kennedy on Nancy Pelosi: 'Speaker Nancu Pelosi is trying to impeach him. I don’t mean any disrespect but it must suck to be that dumb.'

The author — who first captured attention in 2018 as the unidentified author of a New York Times opinion column — describes Trump careening from one self-inflicted crisis to the next, “like a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower, pushing the buttons of government indiscriminately, indifferent to the planes skidding across the runway and the flights frantically diverting away from the airport.”

What is so awful, so sad .. is that this is absolutely no surprise to anyone. I doubt anything in this book would come as a shock.

My take on it (not that it matters!) is that a lot of his close Administration - after he is gone - will say that they stayed schtum in order to save the country. That they were the barrier stopping mayhem.

lionheart · 08/11/2019 09:54

Yes.

Quite a lot of hostility about this form of 'resistance' $$$.

'Senior Trump administration officials considered resigning en masse last year in a “midnight self-massacre” to sound a public alarm about President Trump’s conduct, but rejected the idea because they believed it would further destabilize an already teetering government, according to a new book by an unnamed author.'

There are bits quoted by Rachel Maddow at

I was watching the r Kelly documentary last night and it made me think of trump
a man with an overfed and out of control id
I think his supporters lionize him because they just love the idea of the 'big man' who does whatever he likes

So this is what I've picked up so far;

House Judiciary Hearings on Impeachment will start at 10am EST on Wednesday 13 Nov. Hearings are expected to last approx 6 hrs.

They will be live-streamed on C-Span3 but you have to be logged in via your TV provider (ie Dish, Comcast, etc). It does not appear that they will be streamed on 'regular' C-Span.

They are supposedly going to be covered by the major cable news stations (CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox), but schedules have not been updated as of now.

The 'Big 3' networks have not yet said whether they will broadcast or not.

On another subject, starting w/Rachel last night and continuing there have been numerous excepts from the Anon book on the various news shows. My God, it sounds as if the staff of the WH has basically been 'nannying' a hyperactive toddler on a (so far) 3-year 'tear'. Distracting with rallies, using '1 point visuals' to explain things. It's just horrendous. I kept thinking "What the WH needs is Nanny McFee". /s

But I don't think Nanny McF, Mary Poppins, and Supernanny rolled into one could tame that brat.

That's 6 hours per session, not 6 hours total.

Just what you need with Russia at your door:

Vindman.

'I perceive that—I perceive that that our relationship is damaged. I think as this process wears on, I think the relationship will continue to be damaged and undercut. It undercuts U.S. resolve to support Ukraine and certainly puts a question into their mind whether they in fact have U.S. support.'
