www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-impeachment-sondland-call-record-white-house-ukraine-a9225051.html

'The White House reportedly has no record of a phone call Donald Trump claims exonerates him over a scandal which is threatening to bring down his presidency.'

Yesterday I watched the Netflix documentary about Bikram Choudhury the yoga guy, I thought Bikram was very Trumpian

lionheart · 30/11/2019 15:06

That does not sound in the least bit relaxing.

I have finally recovered from my turkey coma. The hangover may take a bit longer 😉

The first intel cmte hearing was DS1's birthday. The first judiciary cmte hearing is on mine. We both see that as a good omen.😆

I'm still of the belief that he will be impeached in the House, but not removed from office by the Senate. At this point I truly believe he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and the Senate would still not vote to remove. And we can thank that prick Newt Gingrich for the partisanship now rampant in Congress. He started it back when Clinton was president and it's just gotten worse and more rigid since.

Also wanted to say that my thoughts are with our London (and UK) and our Hague (and NL) compatriots after the terrible attacks yesterday. We must keep our determination strong to fight terrorism (including Scrotus who eggs it on) and keep our bonds strong.

Yes.

Maybe you and DS can have an impeachment party when the time comes.

AcrossthePond55 · 30/11/2019 18:01

Good idea lion! Maybe we'll save the huge pile of tree limbs and cuttings now drying in our back pasture and have a big bonfire to celebrate.

Thank you Across. My heart is always in my mouth when something happens. 2 of my DCs work in central London and one commutes regularly round London Bridge.

I think that's a given. Unless they decide they want Pence there instead. Doubt it.

cozietoesie · 01/12/2019 11:37

Yes. Across had it, I think.

RhinoskinhaveI · 01/12/2019 12:08

The (ostensibly) most powerful man in the world is a babbling idiot and they can't get rid of him because they can't find anyone who's up to the job😳

AcrossthePond55 · 01/12/2019 12:23

Well, if they can impeach both Scrotus and Pence, then Nancy Pelosi will get the job.

I'm good with that.

I watched an episode of The Twighlight Zone last night about an 11 year old who had been elected president. His mother was the one actually on the ballot but wouldn't challenge him and the military chief wouldn't defy him because treason.
Definitely not based on any real events. Wink

Lweji · 01/12/2019 13:18

They won't be good with Pelosi in charge, though.

AcrossthePond55 · 01/12/2019 14:09

No they wouldn't Lweji and the chances of Pence being impeached are pretty slim. So far nothing seems to be 'sticking'.

But I think the impeachment of Scrotus is more about making him 'un-reelectable' by bringing his shit-dealings out in public for all to see than it is about getting him removed from office.

Those of us that didn't vote for him in 2016 won't vote for him in 2020. The 'die-hard' fan base will vote for him no matter what. It's about getting those who are wobbling or 'uninvolved' that the impeachment's about.
