That they should have brought fresh sheets

So we're on holiday and toddler DS has thrown up all over his cot, all over our bed and over half of the towels.

We ring reception to ask for fresh sheets. Nope, can't get anything till the morning. Pointed out we have no sheets for the bed and have the same line repeated again.

AIBU to think this is ridiculous at a so-called luxury resort? DS has finally fallen asleep on his beach towel covered mattress and DH and I are in puke covered sheets with the worst wiped off.

Totally inappropriate... I hope you complained!

The water has never been brown anywhere I’ve stayed in Antigua. That looks grim.

No, not cocos. I believe that's adults only?

We've spoken to BA again who is going to relay our feelings to the management. I feel like they're trying to protect themselves legally by not apologising but it's not the point at all.

Unacceptable. Totally. You need new linens - I would second taking them down to housekeeping - they'll move then...

How disappointing

Jumby bay?

sqirrelfriends · 03/11/2019 17:00

They've now finally apologised but in a "I'm sorry you experienced that but we couldn't help because of x, y and z" kind of way. They have given us a late check out which is useful but it's not the point really.

Will be writing a balanced review when I get home.

Complain in the morning and ask to speak to the manager

Madamum18 · 06/11/2019 17:56

Sorry missed your final comment. You should have been given a refund of some sort , at least one night free

sqirrelfriends · 06/11/2019 21:37

I agree, it would have been nice to have an upgrade or some sort of compensation but it wasn't really the point I was trying to make to them.

I was just looking for an apology to get them to see that their policy wasn't family friendly and to perhaps consider changing them before some other poor DC has to sleep in their own puke/wee/poo.
