How are you voting in December?

Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I did look and couldn’t find one.

So now it’s been confirmed that we’re having a GE in December, how are you voting? And what are your predictions on the results?

I’ve seen quite a few posts on here over the past couple months from people saying they wouldn’t vote now as they are politically homeless - wondering if these people still feel that way?

I’m voting labour - albeit in a very safe Tory area (so feel very much as though my vote doesn’t count). Reasons being I would never vote Tory and I don’t like a lot of what the Lim Dems have said recently. I also couldn’t bring myself not to vote at all.

Lib Dem. Anything to keep the SNP out. Hate them and their separatist agenda even more than I hate Brexit.

"Otherwise what exactly has Corbyn done that constitutes as anti-semitism? Just a reminder in case it is the aforementioned, criticism of Israel does not equate to being an anti-Semitic."
Of course you can criticise Israeli policy- as Israelis do.
But if you are anti-Zionist that means you want to wipe Israel off the map not just criticise Israeli foreign or domestic policy. Words matter.
Corbyn makes Labour a safe home of antisemitism.
If you watched the launch of the Chakrabati whitewash Report into antisemitism in the Labour Party, you will have seen some anti Semitic twat having a general rant and a specific go at Luciana Berger (for being Jewish) who was still a Labour MP at the time. Corbyn just smiled beatifically and let it happen. Chakrabati has the decency to look horrified.
I despise Corbyn and Johnson in equal measure. Swinson heads up Woke Central Party.

Fastandfree · 30/10/2019 08:43

Conservative

Albern · 30/10/2019 08:43

I will be voting Labour.

Answerthequestion · 30/10/2019 08:43

@IAmPrettyWisdomous assume this is because he’s spoken against Israel? Otherwise what exactly has Corbyn done that constitutes as anti-semitism? Just a reminder in case it is the aforementioned, criticism of Israel does not equate to being an anti-Semitic. It’s overplayed to attempt to shut down any negative words about what Israel does wrong.

I couldn’t care less if he speaks out against Israel. And thank you very much, I have a major issue with Jewish MP’s being attacked for their religion, for those who stand up such as John Mann, being attacked, for the absolute travesty of abuse that luciana Berger received, for the party standing by when Ruth Smeeth spoke up, for Louise Ellman who has been a party member for 55 years feeling she no longer has a place, for investigations into anti semitism taking months. It’s not ok. Whether Corbyn himself is anti Semitic I don’t know, he’s probably not, he’s probably indifferent to Jews and I suspect finds them a pain in the neck but many many of his hangers on are and he has done NOTHING absolutely NOTHING publically to stop their actions. What kind of world do we live in where Jewish labour MP’s have to have security at their security at their own party conference.

Woofbloodywoof · 30/10/2019 08:44

Lib Dem but in a v safe Tory seat. (Think 68% of the vote 😮)
Would love to go back to Labour but cannot until JC is replaced by someone intelligent and sensible like Starmer or Phillips.
This is the first election in my lifetime where I haven’t been 100% sure who to vote for or how the result will go. Scary times.
I never understand the ‘will never vote Tory/Labour’ attitude. Anyone with half a brain surely looks at all the options on offer at the time and makes as educated a choice as they can. All this tribalism is precisely why we’re in the mess we’re in.

Tellmetruth4 · 30/10/2019 08:44

I’ve got a great Labour MP but I was wavering until recently and voted Libdem in the EU elections. However, after listening more closely to Jo Swindon and finding out she voted with the Conservatives more often than even Michael Gove, I don’t trust her.

I also believe she triggered the general election because she’s keen to make another pact with the Tories. The country cannot cops with even one more year of austerity. I have to vote Labour. I don’t think Corbyn will stick around if he wins, he just wants to see his policies implemented.

“Sometimes I feel like I read different newspapers to everyone else”

You read the Guardian don’t you.

Macca84 · 30/10/2019 08:45

@MeanMrMustardSeed

If I'm honest I'm surprised anyone could vote Labour after their behaviour over the past few years - especially with Corbyn as leader. See - it works both ways! I’ll be voting Conservative.

Can you share some specific examples? Preferably ones that are in the same league as the Tories' behaviour?

JustRichmal · 30/10/2019 08:45

We are in a strong conservative area. However I will vote green. I do not look on it as a wasted vote because if enough people think like me, at least they will not loose their deposit.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 30/10/2019 08:45

As for Labour being confused on Brexit. They’re not actually. They recognise that plenty of labour voters want Brexit and plenty don’t. So that’s why they’re suggesting it needs another referendum

The certainly have been. Labour took three years to come to this decision (linger that three years) . And we know Corbyn is in support of leaving

Darkbendis · 30/10/2019 08:46

SNP in our house.

BeerandBiscuits · 30/10/2019 08:46

I'm surprised at those who are amazed, flabbergasted etc when someone votes differently to them.

goodtoseeyou · 30/10/2019 08:46

@OtraCosaMariposa totally agree.

Absolutely DESPISE the SNP.

I’ll be voting Lib Dem.

Tellmetruth4 · 30/10/2019 08:48

Contemplating taking time off work in December to volunteer for whichever party has the best chance to unseat Boris in Uxbridge.

Ionacat · 30/10/2019 08:48

Lib dem
Safe Tory seat though - but it is in a remain area and he has voted according to the government, so hopefully his majority will be dented some what.

shinynewapple · 30/10/2019 08:48

Probably Lib Dem - if I vote.

My area has quite a large Tory majority and I don't know why.

Have voted all parties over the years, and also no party at all.

I think the result will be another hung parliament and more chaos.

That's what comes of leaders who are far right / far left. I'm pretty moderate, middle of the line.

I have absolutely no idea!!! How on earth can i decide that?

I don't like Corbyn
I cannot stand BoJo
As much as I don't want Brexit, it has to happen, ot this country will gave another 15 years of political unrest and I don't want that , so I won't waste my vote on lib dems

fotheringhay · 30/10/2019 08:48

I'll always go with the party most likely to remove the conservatives (unless they were truly shocking) so that's Labour. If the Lib Dems were the second biggest I'd go with them.

Always were and always will be the Nasty Party (but sadly the best at deceptive PR)

Milicentbystander72 · 30/10/2019 08:49

I'm surprised at those who are amazed, flabbergasted etc when someone votes differently to them

^ yes this! Also stroppy demands for absolute about why you vote a different way. I have a job to go to. I can't spend all day arguing the toss on the Internet.

Milicentbystander72 · 30/10/2019 08:50

*absolute details

EightWellies · 30/10/2019 08:50

Labour. Hoping to get rid of a useless SNP MP and this dreadful Tory Government. We'll see.

ShatnersWig · 30/10/2019 08:50

Opportunity It's not an American Presidential election! You don't vote for a leader, you vote for your local MP.

Monkeybunkey · 30/10/2019 08:51

Conservative. Could never vote Labour while Corbyn is the party leader.
