Sweets by the till in Next

Popped into Next earlier.

A woman was having a right go at a member of staff behind the till because of the placement of sweets by the queue and how awful it is for parents because of the temptation for kids.

This is all whilst buying said sweets because her child (dd2 maybe 3yo) is having a massive meltdown.

Obviously mum was having a hard day, but I lost sympathy for her for taking it out on a member of staff.

Aibu for thinking it's her own fault if she gives in to the meltdowns?

a few over priced sweets, gift wrapped, are NOT going to cause or add to obesity problems!

its more likely to be the food they are fed on a regular basis for breakfast/lunch/dinner which is the problem.....as well as the junk food fed at soft play or macdonalds or cinema or wherever else

YANBU. She shouldn't have shouted at the NEXT employee. The employee is faultless in this. However, I do feel clothing (and many other types of) stores should rethink their policies re sweets. They don't need to sell them--their profits are coming at the cost of public health. Diabetes and obesity are spiralling.
