I'm in London for a few days next month and will have enough time to see 2 West End plays - hurrah!

Last time I asked on MN a few months ago someone recommended Come From Away - which was amazing and I'm so happy I took the recommendation.

Sadly Les Mis isn't on again until December and I'd love to have seen Six but it's sold out on the dates I'm going Sad have seen Matilda and Wicked. It doesn't have to be a musical but please recommend any amazing West End plays you've seen.

TIA

The Lehman Trilogy and Hamilton. Both amazing.

Love Charlie Stemp Witchend He is a real star.
Sam Tutty made an excellent debut last night on Dear Evan Hansen. Its a great production, very slick and some lovely songs.

Hamilton is awesome.
But also how about back to back comedy shows at the soho theatre?

Witchend · 30/10/2019 22:22

@bruffin Dd thinks he's wonderful. She saw him in Half a Sixpence at least 3 times over about 6 months. He's lovely at the stage door too. Really kind and thoughtful to dd.

Hamilton. Cannot recommend it enough.

Those who've seen the play that goes wrong..do they pick on you?? 🤣 I'm on the front row and been on to see what ticket take up is like - as of now I'm the only one on the front row, other seats are still for sale and it's only a few days away 😬

do they pick on you??

Not during the play as far as I remember. The “action” starts before curtain up though with the “backstage crew” looking for misplaced tools etc and audience are asked to look u deer seats and pass cables along. To get the full experience you really do need to take your seat as soon as the auditorium is opened.

They had one vu tree at the start, but even then I wasn’t convinced it wasn’t staged

beanaseireann · 03/11/2019 16:05

Has anyone seen Girl from the North Country ?

rose69 · 03/11/2019 18:28

I give up 🤷‍♀️. What does this mean?

GreenTulips · 03/11/2019 19:44

Volunteer! I think they were part of the cast and not a really theater goer

Medievalist · 03/11/2019 20:10

Of course! Thank you!

onetimeonlyy · 03/11/2019 20:16

Why not see what's on at the globe? I always find that a wonderful experience.

I hated book of Mormon -- found it very racist but each to their own.

Cursed Child is great!

Is motown still on? Loved that.

Fightthebear · 04/11/2019 12:20

@beanaseireann

I saw the original run of Girl from the North Country twice.

It was wonderful, original arrangements of Dylan’s music and much better singers!

Fightthebear · 04/11/2019 12:23

Sheila Atim doing “Tight Connection to My Heart. Don’t think she’s in the new run though.

beanaseireann · 04/11/2019 13:29

Thank you @Fightthebear
