To celebrate Yaniv losing Yaniv's case?

Comprehensively.

The court found that Yaniv "engaged in improper conduct, filed complaints for improper purposes" and that Yaniv's testimony was "disingenuous and self-serving" as well as "evasive and argumentative and contradicted herself while giving evidence".

there are also a lot who believe that if a woman who is lesbian doesn't have sex with a trans woman with a penis because he has a penis that she is transfobic and the worst thing on the planet.

The good old "cotton ceiling" for anyone here who is reading this for the first time check out these articles:

medium.com/@mirandayardley/girl-dick-the-cotton-ceiling-and-the-cultural-war-on-lesbians-and-women-c323b4789368

factcheckme.wordpress.com/2012/03/13/the-cotton-ceiling-really/

The TLDR: version is that lesbians are transphobic for not wanting to have sex with a person who is male-bodied, so that is the world we live in now.

She then cancelled the appointment because she found Yaniv's behaviour concerning and didn't want him in her home- this was upheld because his behaviour was indeed creepy and she didn't even have to get into what waxes she was qualified to do. So maybe a glimmer of hope?

Cautiously hopeful about this, but what if the woman hadn't been in a protected category herself in terms of race and/or religion? What if her spidey senses hadn't pinged until the person turned up on her doorstep and she'd refused service at that point? I'm concerned that the judgement was very carefully written to leave the door open for a later case with a more sympathetic claimant (so, pretty much anyone really) to find that women working from home are not actually allowed to refuse service and entry to their homes. Cousineau certainly seems to be leaning in that direction with the comments about arm/leg waxing.

What I'd like to see is a ruling that anyone working from their own home and/or going out to other people's homes can refuse service at any time for any reason, and not be held criminally liable. Anything short of that prevents women from acting on their instincts and saying no when something just doesn't feel quite right (not everyone in the "not quite right" category will be quite as with bells on obvious as Yaniv) or because they just don't feel comfortable providing intimate services to anyone not of their own sex. Or men, if there are any who provide single sex services and would like to continue to do so.

The idea that you can be forced under threat of prosecution to allow someone into your home when you don't want to as part of a commercial enterprise is just bloody outrageous. I won't feel comfortable until absolutely right of refusal in those cases has been established.

So good to see that the mainstream press is also picking up on this - mainly North American sources, but still.

Thank you ChuckleBuckles

Most of us would agree that NO-ONE should have to have sex with someone they don't want to - and that they shouldn't feel that they have to give any explanation for their decision.

Not these militant TWs and their acolytes, though. As far as they are concerned, if a lesbian doesn't want a "woman" with a dick, then she is transphobic - she should have to have sex with them!

Why?

Why should ANYONE have to have sex with someone they find physically unattractive - sickening even? Would these TWs want to have sex with someone they didn't fancy? Of course they wouldn't - that's why they don't just spend their time shagging each other and glorying in the wonder of their 'ladydicks".

If they truly felt that TW were real women, and that they were TLs (trans-lesbians - I may have made that up*), then they'd be more than happy just to have sex with each other and leave people who didn't want to have sex with them, alone. But they don't.

This is just another predatory ploy to take control of women's sexuality.

There is an increasing number of people who were encouraged to have physical transition (mainly female to male who have had "top" surgery etc) who are speaking out against early transing. Many TM, and a number of surgically transitioned TWs feel that if they had had more time, and hadn't been "railroaded" into training, they would have realised that they weren't trans - they were gay.

Some people may be trans - I suspect that most others would be happily gay if they were left alone, or supported to identify and come to terms with their sexuality. I think that there is a lot of pressure on confused adolescents (and often children who are even younger) to decide what they "are". They are themselves. Give them time and then support their decision.

*If I've made this up, I don't apologise. The trans lobby keep messing about with language all of the time. It's very hard to keep up with the terms and their meanings because they all change so much.

Sorry

Yes, it’s shocking how people are being railroaded. A lot of this is a mental health issue. It’s the new anorexia for some, the new punk for others etc.

This is what the irreversible surgery looks like on these young women.

Look at it and tell me this is what we should advise young people in our care to do, instead of helping them accept their bodies as perfect just the way they are.

No that is how it looks "healed" as far as I know - there may be some improvement, but that's what they are left with; and it comes with considerable and equally permanent health risks too.

It makes me feel sick to look at, but people need to see these images.

I think it's terrifying we live in such crazy times, we actually needed a court case to decide whether a woman has the right to refuse handling male genitals in the first place

Quite Hmm

Unfortunately, for all the relief over this case, there are plenty more of Yaniv's persuasion and they're not going anywhere any time soon

Those pictures ... so so sad Sad

And those posters on past threads who have screeched "transphobic" when we voice concerns for young people going down a path of medication, sterilisation and mutilation. Can you imagine if a young person did all of this and years down the line realises they weren't in the wrong body after all and have destroyed the one they have.

What would those posters say to those people then?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 23/10/2019 13:22

Re the post FTM surgery images, those are definitely healed, when it's just been done it's completely raw flesh at the "donor" sites. I think people should see those images too but I'm not going to post them here because they're just too horrifying for people not expecting them to run across.

This is what, ultimately, people cheerleading for transitioning children are signing our gender nonconforming, mostly lesbian daughters up for. Those people should definitely be looking at the pre-healing images - if you're going to advocate for this stuff then you have no right to look away.

If they tell someone that they can ‘become’ them they should - in good faith - show such images and the list of potential health issues. Telling small kids this - in their mind it’s like ‘magic’ and everything is perfect. Sadly those phones show otherwise. Do these patients really feel happier with their bodies? I can’t believe they aren’t on painkillers - don’t people who have major burns end up on a lifetime of painkillers?

That’s one issue. The other is ‘becoming’ with no medical intervention whatsoever.

Report
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 23/10/2019 14:29

I almost wish for their own safety that young transmen were being encouraged to go the "no need for medical transition, your body is whatever you say it is" route, just to avoid what we see in the photos above. That's not happening nearly a much as it is the other way around, though, and I think the reasons why are obvious. Which sex is taught to hate their own bodies, and for which sex does the resulting distress go into overdrive when puberty kicks in?

I can't see the above photos as anything other than the result of deep hatred and fear of one's own body created by a misogynistic society and weaponized by a movement that wants more "trans kids" as a way to make itself look less sexually motivated.

YANBU. Brilliant step forward for ACTUAL women. You know, the ones without a rotund who shouldn't have to touch male genitalia because a Brazilian is a human right but not being sexually harassed isn't.

Yaniv is an odious foil little creep, a compulsive liar and entirely dangerous and deluded. The sooner he crawls away the better.
