Foodtheif (oh the irony Grin ) that's more likely to be a phonetic representation of how they say it - where I live, people tend to say "Ah'm going out / Ah slept in" rather than "Eye slept in" (IYSWIM).

Foodtheif · 23/10/2019 14:40

I am aware it’s thief but Mumsnet wouldn’t let me have it!

Footle · 23/10/2019 14:42

@Foodtheif , Shakespeare uses a instead of I frequently, when his less refined characters are talking.

DiscoMoo · 23/10/2019 15:36

Heals instead of heels and breaks instead of brakes are two I see all the time on MN.

ChanklyBore · 23/10/2019 16:34

Sonny Jim...

SilverySurfer · 23/10/2019 16:49

I always laugh when I'm on an online game which has a rogue as a possible class of character. I would love a pound for every time someone refers to themselves or others as a rouge. I can't stop myself saying something like 'oh so you have red cheeks' and they still don't get it Grin

Teacher22 · 23/10/2019 17:25

Pacifically Spag Bowl or just a general mince concoction?

ScrambledSmegs · 23/10/2019 17:27

One of my favourite misspellings is colon for cologne. It makes me snort-laugh in a very childish manner Grin

On BBC news subtitles in the gym today it said ‘Ellie Christie’ - took me a while to figure out it was ‘electricity’!

Commonwasher · 23/10/2019 17:30

‘Spag bowels’

Grin
BikeRunSki · 23/10/2019 17:34

I went to a meeting with an “Agender” last week.

beingmum39 · 23/10/2019 17:38

Battered an eye lidShock I'll have 2 deep fat fried... Grin

purplebunny2012 · 23/10/2019 17:48

bone apple teeth

It's bone apple tea, that's the name of the subreddit. You all need to read/listen to those (on YouTube) because there's loads of these posts

Georgeofthejungle · 23/10/2019 17:49

I had to unfollow someone who was aways having a buzy day. It just annoyed me too much

chicalina · 23/10/2019 17:49

Loving this thread! I have a friend who says she's guttered (instead of gutted) Grin
I haven't the heart to tell her otherwise either!

Pffft, some of these people clearly need an English Tudor....

purplebunny2012 · 23/10/2019 17:53

"My child has been excepted by an agency!"
So, they didn't like your child, then?

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 23/10/2019 17:56

My local freegle group had a “cubbard and matshing chester draws” ... obviously didn’t want to even ATTEMPT to spell wardrobe.

purplebunny2012 · 23/10/2019 17:58

just reply, VERY concisely, '"Oh, I WOULD HAVE too!" Every, single, time

My ex manager writes of instead of have, too. I'm professional emails

BlooperReel · 23/10/2019 17:59

Is Spag bowl 'more better' than Spag bol? Asking for a moron friend.

wooo69 · 23/10/2019 18:00

Us instead of our makes me cringe every time.

purplebunny2012 · 23/10/2019 18:04

Recently on a daytime property show someone said 'we brought this house'. I rewinded it several times to check

Whoops! You, of course, mean rewound

Chuggypig · 23/10/2019 18:07
