Currently don’t have a driving licence.

What is the likelihood of being stopped by the police?

Myself and my husband are both insured on the car.

To answer op’s question I reckon you have pretty much zero chance of being caught. Judging by the standards of driving I see every single day you are far from the only one driving without a licence.

It really depends on the frequency and type of driving you are doing. If it's a short occasionally rural journey with no traffic management cameras, probably unlikely.

To answer your question it is very unlikely that you would be caught unless you committed a road traffic offence (and the police stopped you) or if you were involved in an accident.

You are correct In saying ad their is a valid policy on the car it would not flag up as uninsured.

I assume you don’t mean just practicing with a licensed driver in the car, but actively driving on the roads unlicensed?

How are you insured without a license? And it’s completely void if you do, so any accidents would not be covered.
I suppose likelihood depends on how ‘good’ a driver you are, but it would obviously be absolutely foolish and dangerous - both to yourself and others as your skills/experience haven’t been certified to a legal level.

Police can pull you over for a multitude of reasons, brake light out, dirty number plate etc. Could be something minor that you don't think about.

No one has any idea on the likelihood because its not really possible to measure. It's going to depend on so many things - the policing strategy in your area, the resources they have, whether or not you end up involved in an accident etc

I have never had to do this. People always say this on insurance threads but I have held insurance, including f a business policy, for a good 20 years and not once been asked for my driving licence number.

Problem is, if you are involved in an accident it could be very serious consequences for you, even if you didn't cause the accident. You can't control how others drive around you.

I think the likelihood varies according to the reason you don't have a licence.
If you live somewhere rural and everyone knows you lost your licence for drink-diving, there's about a 100% chance someone will shop you.
