Inappropriate baby clothes

Name changed for this as outing (discussed in rl)

I followed a home made clothing brand on Instagram who I thought did lovely baby clothes and considered ordering.
I came across a lovely romper with koala bears on but the caption underneath said Cuddly AF. I then saw that this was part of a whole range of ‘AF’ clothing. They were proud of what the AF stood for and thought it was fun.
Am I being a pearl clutcher or is it just an awful thing to put on a baby?
I really can’t get my head around why those letters need to be there and I don’t find them fun or light hearted. I thought it was awful? The romper would have been lovely without them.
Am I being an uptight judgey-pants or do you also think it’s inappropriate?

@RasberryRoyale Haha this really made me laugh 😂. I would totally buy that :) I definitely wouldn't take my baby out in it though it would just be a joke for my husband.
Op- I hate inappropriate clothing on babies and children there is really no need for it. It's just embarrassing really.

Sorry to derail...

(If you're the mother, it's fairly unusual for mothers of young babies to wear pearls. Grandmas do. :-))

You obviously weren't around in the 80s were you? Grin

Maltybiscuit · 17/10/2019 22:26

I thought the AF was Aunt Flo!! Grin

lovelyjubilly · 17/10/2019 22:37

When my dd was born we were given a sleepsuit emblazoned with the words "Too cute for Africa'. Confused

Toojudgypants · 17/10/2019 23:22

The seller is barn owl babies and she has a whole range of stuff. I really liked he style but I do really think it’s crossing a line. I’m not really a sweaty person and I do find it offensive.

Toojudgypants · 17/10/2019 23:23

Haha, sweary not sweaty

YANBU. I hate any kind of slogan on baby clothes. Babies are people, not accessories.

notthemum · 18/10/2019 00:00

Thanks for asking Doris dances and thanks for reply paddy paws.
Now I know, I think they sound awful and definitely would not buy.

Bluerussian · 18/10/2019 00:02

I didn't see any sweaty or sweary slogans or any slogans. Some of the clothes are cute especially the ones with little barn owl paintings on.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/10/2019 00:43

YANBU. I hate those Me and my daddy hate
such a team. Fancy putting such a negative word on a baby’s clothing.

brittabot · 18/10/2019 00:45

Not a fan of slogans but if other people want to wear them (with sweary acronym or not) that’s up to them.

Ihateedmundelephant · 18/10/2019 05:47

Find it hard to get worked up about to be honest 🤷‍♀️

Toojudgypants · 18/10/2019 06:30

@Bluerussian did you look at her ‘AF Collection’?

OP posts:
Toojudgypants · 18/10/2019 06:32

The whole words aren’t in there - just the abbreviation...and like I said, the clothes are lovely...that’s why I don’t understand why you’d stick horrible words on there.

OP posts:
Toojudgypants · 18/10/2019 06:42

Also, they’re subtle - not emblazoned

Phimma · 18/10/2019 06:48

What is AF ?

emilybrontescorsett · 18/10/2019 06:55

Chavtastic.

Yestermo · 18/10/2019 06:57

Phimma As Fuck

PrincessPain · 18/10/2019 07:01

I couldn't get worked up about this.
To each their own.

Krisskrosskiss · 18/10/2019 07:46

Well it doesnt bother me too m8ch. Babies cant read. But I'd not buy it for my baby no. I do think it's a bit tacky... but I think that about most slogans whether they contain swearing or not tbf.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 18/10/2019 07:50

Gives me the boke

MegaMonsterMunch · 18/10/2019 08:50

They're so tacky and make me cringe. Some are so inappropriate. I saw a babygro that said "Made in Vagina" with a barcode on it - who on earth would put this on their child. Despite it being factually incorrect, it's just crass. I'm not a prude at all but honestly, they.make my toes curl.

Lowlandlucky · 18/10/2019 08:59

Why oh why would anyone buy such clothes ? No doubt the same people who swear around babies
