Inappropriate baby clothes

Name changed for this as outing (discussed in rl)

I followed a home made clothing brand on Instagram who I thought did lovely baby clothes and considered ordering.
I came across a lovely romper with koala bears on but the caption underneath said Cuddly AF. I then saw that this was part of a whole range of ‘AF’ clothing. They were proud of what the AF stood for and thought it was fun.
Am I being a pearl clutcher or is it just an awful thing to put on a baby?
I really can’t get my head around why those letters need to be there and I don’t find them fun or light hearted. I thought it was awful? The romper would have been lovely without them.
Am I being an uptight judgey-pants or do you also think it’s inappropriate?

@DorisDances it means ‘as fuck’.

I don’t like it and I wouldn’t buy it but I agree it’s not as bad as some. Tacky but not hugely offensive.

Geminijes · 17/10/2019 19:20

YABU for referring to koalas as bears, they are marsupials not bears.

heykarumba · 17/10/2019 19:22

Ugh common

littlepaddypaws · 17/10/2019 19:23

i would judge parents who dress their youngsters in this shit tbh. for being tacky a f

melissasummerfield · 17/10/2019 19:28

I agree OP, urgh!

I follow a popular sweary pen seller and she made a badge with ‘1 week old and already a cunt’ on it and i was absolutely shocked that people were buying them for newborns and posting on social media!

FriedasCarLoad · 17/10/2019 19:30

Tacky and inappropriate.

SunshineCake · 17/10/2019 19:31

People saying babies can't read are trying too hard.

It's awful. Hard of thinking. Desperate to be cool and failing crap.

Sagradafamiliar · 17/10/2019 19:31

That's awful Melissa Shock

heykarumba · 17/10/2019 19:34

Uh common imo

MrMeSeeks · 17/10/2019 19:41

*People saying babies can't read are trying too hard.

Ahh yes, the ‘cool’ insult, people couldn’t possible like different things Confused
I’m not a slogan baby grow person, but really can’t get worked up about this, don’t think it’s worse than other slogan grows.

The bj grows on the other hand...Hmm

littlepaddypaws · 17/10/2019 19:41

melissa that's the scum classes for you.

Bluerussian · 17/10/2019 20:23

Please post a link!

newbienan · 17/10/2019 20:25

Vile

Pcosmama · 17/10/2019 20:43

I can see why it's distasteful and I wouldn't put it on my baby but I have seen worse!

"all mummy wanted was a backrub" and
"daddy's little squirt"

I also hate the "ladies man" type slogans on babies too.

Weathergirl1 · 17/10/2019 20:47

Had a sponsored item show up on eBay a few days ago. Baby vest with 'I'm proof my Daddy doesn't shoot blanks' on the front 🤪

MabelMoo23 · 17/10/2019 20:51

I think it’s vile

littlepaddypaws · 17/10/2019 20:53

weather roughly translated as my bil, ndn's dh or the guy from the chip shop doesn't. skanky breeds skanky.

Sunshine93 · 17/10/2019 20:55

In an eBay bundle for my newborn we got belted jeans with "cute babe" written on the arse.

I mean I get why the wording might be sweet on the front of a top( not my thing but ok I suppose) but on the back of jeans on a baby who spends her entire time lying on her back? Why did anyone buy this?

Drabarni · 17/10/2019 21:00

Tbh, I don't think any of the slogans are appropriate, just leave them bloody plain.
It's not just sexual connotations although they are bad but I really detest Princess, and Daddy comments.
I bought my gd some lovely clothes there's no need for all this shit.
I'm sure they weren't around when I had mine, apart from dd 15. Perhaps I just rolled my eyes and walked past Grin

apples24 · 17/10/2019 21:05

Urgh, that's really tacky OP!

c3pu · 17/10/2019 21:08

Best one is "I tore mummy a new one"

JustForThisFred · 17/10/2019 21:16

I wouldn’t buy it, but it wouldn’t bother me if someone gave it to me.

But then I think the ‘Daddy’s little squirt’ and the ones like it are funny 🤷🏻‍♀️ (Not side splitting but they raise a smile).

MooKnee · 17/10/2019 21:18

If I bought that for my baby, my 5 year old would be asking what it means. Don’t know about inappropriate but unnecessary for sure

raspberryk · 17/10/2019 21:19

I would have got a "noisy AF" one

SleepingStandingUp · 17/10/2019 21:21

I don't understand why you'd put your child in clothes with swear words on it? I get the 3 month old baby can't read, but it's just nasty.
