To feel really sorry for Prince Harry breaking down

AviationLifystyle · 16/10/2019 09:56

At the awards show. I have been a little skeptical about him recently but my heart really went out to him when I saw the footage.

I have a feeling that having a child has triggered a huge amount of unresolved grief and anxiety. Now he has this dear little boy who is at the mercy of the tabloid press, as is his wife and there is little he can do to protect him.

It's time the press laid off. This is a human being breaking in front of us.

Once again- a thread where nobody will say specifically what H&M have done differently from any other member of the royal family. Lots of “not fit to represent the Queen” “attention seeking” “they need to do the job properly”. But nothing specific. Nobody will say what they’ve done wrong. All very, very strange.

Roobaby141 · 16/10/2019 21:03

I agree but this seems to be more in everyones face than normal. Have not heard alot about the Cambridgdes in Pakistan for instance. Royals are there to highlight the event not to have it turned into a circus about th;em because of the way they have behaved.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 16/10/2019 21:04

Ooops I was wrong - there is a “piece” on —Harry— awards in the Times. I watched that clip just now on BBC and he’s sniggering and trying to cover it with pretending it’s upset. After having DD I was crying at a drop of a hat - puppy/ charity ads/ anything babyrelated no matter what species. There was no sniggering involved.

LaurieMarlow · 16/10/2019 21:05

There’s plenty in the news. Looks like you’re not paying attention.

Cerseirys · 16/10/2019 21:06

William and Kate were on the front pages of several newspapers today @Roobaby141!

CallmeAngelina · 16/10/2019 21:08

Bertrand, I refer you to my post of 19:49 for starters.
Can you ever recall the Queen holding on to the DofE's hand and indulging in over-the-top public displays of affection? She's a true professional, and understands that to shine too bright a light onto the Royal Family and it loses its mystique and it all becomes open season - as has transpired.

blueshoes · 16/10/2019 21:12

Me me me.

What ever happened to stiff upper lip and being dutiful in the face of all the tax-payer funded privileges and publicity.

Lucky he has to much support (and security) to lean on that he does not have to earn. More than I can say for many who don't have a fraction of what he has and more burdens on their shoulders.

Roobaby141 · 16/10/2019 21:14

I don't buy newspapers I tend to read the news online now and they may be in the papers but on line not so much and certainly not so much as the Sussexes

Wheat2Harvest · 16/10/2019 21:16

I can't remember seeing a Royal starting to cry during a speech before. This with all the sudden litigation, seems off.

It was embarrasing to watch. He's a member of the royal family and should keep his emotions in check when he's in public and save the tears for in private. If he can't do that then he needs to be questioning whether he should be doing televised speeches at all.

Roobaby141 · 16/10/2019 21:18

LaurieMarlow I'm most definately paying attention.!! Like I stated previously do not pay for papers not an awful lot on internet and if you have to trawl through it. I would not trawl through internet unless it was a very serious subject and the royals are not serious enough

LaurieMarlow · 16/10/2019 21:28

Well they were comprehensively covered on the bbc, sky news, mail, express and sun websites today (off the top of my head) so I’m not entirely sure how you’re missing it.

Cerseirys · 16/10/2019 21:29

Certainly they're all over the tabloids' websites but no one on MN ever clicks on Mail Online Grin

MissEliza · 16/10/2019 21:37

The event wasn't about him and his feelings This is how I feel. It just seems wrong to cry in front of people who face much much greater challenges in their every day life than you do. If I see stories on the TV about disabled or very ill children, I will have a weep but I wouldn't do it in front of them or their families, especially as I've been blessed with healthy children.

Parttimewasteoftime · 16/10/2019 22:02

Do people not remember the Queen shaking her head in sorrow at Princess Dianas funeral when seeing her coffin. Makes me want to cry thinking about it. I am a crier though it annoying hard but anything like what PH sees would make me 😭 And yes I know people are a lot worse off he still human.

Interestedwoman · 16/10/2019 22:08

I liked Harry before he met Meghan, but since then have found them a bit preachy and whiny.

RoseQuartzGlow · 16/10/2019 22:28

I think they are both obsessively self absorbed .

RONNIETRIX · 16/10/2019 22:32

He blatantly bursts out laughing and tries to cover it up!!
At least William and Kate are professional

That'd be hilarious @GoldenEvilHoor! The Daily Mail and a certain portion of Mumsnet would self-combust at the thought of Queen Meghan 😂

BertrandRussell · 16/10/2019 22:43

Hand-holding. Over-the-top displays of emotion can’t see a problem with hand holding-some people do- some people don’t. Thinly-veiled digs at family members (could be a two-way street, yes, but never used to happen) do you mean the Jane Goodall interview? If you do-that really isn’t what happened. It you don’t-I don’t know what you mean . Overt and quite aggressive attacks on the media which comes across as being against "us," the general public.... for starters.Still don’t know whether suing the press was a good or bad idea- but don’t see how it’s an attack on the general public?

cheezy · 16/10/2019 22:50

Wow this thread has brought the vipers out tonight Hmm

Some of the comments are not far off something you’d read in the daily mail. How very depressing.

cheezy · 16/10/2019 22:51

Also, a bit of common sense, please. Would he REALLY start laughing during a speech like that?? Some of you are a little hard of thinking.

MissEliza · 16/10/2019 22:53

Gosh yes@RoseQuartzGlow they are self obsessed. I can think of people I know in RL like that eg on the day my dm died suddenly, I had my MIL come on the phone and not say a word before breaking down in tears. She then texted dh to say she was 'too upset about dm's death to talk to me'. She then never mentioned it again Hmm

Iflyaway · 16/10/2019 23:08

I agree.

DeeCeeCherry · 16/10/2019 23:18

Harry is hated because he married a mixed race woman, and she has American heritage too. Double hate-whammy. Nothing they do will be right. Racism being as sly as it is in UK = people will reach for 100s of supposed reasons to hate him when he's not at all done any worse than any other royal - But they just can't bring themselves to speak their truth. It's not the done thing here. The Daily Heil has nothing on MN when it comes to Harry and Meghan.
