Kids of famous people saying they are famous in their own right!

It really drives me mad. You are obviously mainly famous or successful because of connections. I know some are them are talented but surely connections of parents help. David Hasslehoff's daughter has said it. Kelly Osborne, Lilly Allen and loads more.

Woody Cook did say he chose to do The Circle because he never knew whether his friends were genuine or befriending him because of his rich and famous parents for access etc.

AS IF!

Why not just be truthful and say, “I’d quite like to be famous so I made sure that my mum got me on the telly.”

Why insult everybody’s intelligence by coming up with a stupid sob story about poor little rich and famous me?

Iamthewombat · 13/10/2019 20:34

I notice that Martin Kemp’s son is now a DJ, also. How did he ever get his start in the music industry, I wonder?

horse4course · 13/10/2019 20:46

I think it depends if they're vain talentless shits really!

Having famous parents doesn't stop you from being talented any more than it automatically makes you talented.

RueCambon · 13/10/2019 20:50

Lily Rose Depp is one of the prettiest girls I've seen, normally two phenomenally attractive parents don't go on to produce the same because it's not a a formula but in the case of Lily Rose Depp, she would have been snapped up if her parents worked in Tesco.

ExecutiveFiat · 13/10/2019 20:58

Oh Christ, forgot about Zoe ball’s son. What an eejit.

namechangejustbecause · 13/10/2019 21:00

I think in any industry people get a leg up from their parents? So if my dad was a manager of Tesco then I might get a Saturday job there more easily than if he wasn't my dad. It would then be down to me to keep this job and prove myself.

My husband is in the film industry and our son has already been offered a role (we said he was too young). If he does decide he wants to act then instead of auditioning for school plays, he will be able to audition for blockbusters and prime time tv shows.

You could say this is nepotism, and I guess I agree. But he will have to have the talent to make it in the industry past his door opening audition.

GabsAlot · 13/10/2019 21:03

Sorry anais gallgher is no model i think shes rather plain

timshelthechoice · 13/10/2019 21:05

but in the case of Lily Rose Depp, she would have been snapped up if her parents worked in Tesco.

For what? She's only 5ft., 3in., that's not tall enough for modelling agencies.

LolaSmiles · 13/10/2019 21:06

There's one thing to have a leg up into an industry if you're talented, and quite another to make a career of bring talentless or mediocre simply because your folks are celebs of varying degrees.

Brittany2019 · 13/10/2019 21:08

Obama’s daughters are both working hard and going to university though, not becoming models.

Icantreachthepretzels · 13/10/2019 21:24

Models seem to be all eyebrows these days. Anais Gallagher definitely has the eyebrows to make the grade.

Potnoodledoo · 13/10/2019 21:31

2 types of famous parent kids.

1.Brooklyn Beckham,gets jobs cause hes a Beckham

2.Lily Collins, gets jobs because she is a a talented actress.

Goldensummer · 13/10/2019 21:42

Yes I'm aware that Goldie Hawn is well and truly alive. She was very beautiful right up until around 5/10 years ago but then unfortunately she started getting fillers etc. Now she looks a bit scary. She is still a beautiful person but her looks have been lost to surgery...

isabellerossignol · 13/10/2019 21:44

I think the photoshop they use for Lila Moss (and all of them) is probably a bit more sophisticated than what your average teen girl is managing on her iphone.

Of course it is, but you're not in control of it, which is the difference.

pallisers · 13/10/2019 21:45

Oh pallisers come on, what do you know of Kaia Gerbers life? How do we know if she's travelling and mixing with independent people? It just sounds a bit silly surmissing on her life when we have no idea what it's like. I am image a few 18 year old girls would swap with her in a heartbeat.

I know what is plastered all over the papers. Her being papped. Her with her mum. Her going to parties of older people. Her working as a model. If she attending university and hanging in the dorm with her friends at the same time, I'll eat my hat.

I think it is a dismal life to start a 16/17 year old on - my opinion. I'm sure some 18 year olds would love it (although as you point out they have no idea of her life). They are 18. And not all would. I don't want my daughter to be working in an exploitative industry centered entirely around looks at the age of 17/18. I'd hope for something better for her. I'm sure Kaia Gerber is a bright girl - pity all roads seemed to lead to her mother's job and her mother's associates.

It is a choice. Most of us couldn't put a face or name to the Gates' children. Rob Lowe's sons went to excellent universities and got degrees in non-artsy stuff. Calista Flockhart's son was touring the same colleges my dd was along with her and Richard Gere. I'm sure kids in his college who meet him get told who he is and then ignore it - he gets to have a life as a teen/young adult.

TawnyPippit · 13/10/2019 22:06

I was just going to say - positively - about Roman Kemp. I was listening to him in the car the other day with DD, 16. She did not know who Matin Kemp, Shirlie or Spandau Ballet were and was decidedly uninterested. Roman Kemp sounded like a pretty standard Capital DJ. No idea if nepotism got him there but I assume it wouldn’t keep you there.

100PercentThatBitch · 13/10/2019 22:15

Roman Kemp and I may be wrong here but I'm sure I read that he and his sister were set to become millionaires in their own right upon the death of their Godfather George Michael. If this is so the fact he continues to work a regular job with unsociable hours is a credit to him because he doesn't need to

alltoomuchrightnow · 13/10/2019 23:06

Tiger-Lily Taylor modelling with her huge jaw.
Anais Gallagher and Pixie Geldof modelling too..but are striking and quirky looking... is that enough? The name has taken them places.
Just recalled Brooklyn Beckham's elephant photo ...

GunpowderGelatine · 13/10/2019 23:18

Not surprised to hear that Brooklyn is an odious little turd.

Re the "he can't work in Greggs" - true, and yes his parents are to blame for pushing "brand Beckham" onto the unsuspecting public. They didn't have to do that. I mean does anyone know what Michael Owen's kids look like? Doubt it - in fact I don't think I've ever seen a photo of his wife. David and Victoria didn't WANT him to have a normal life, their kids have to be part of their weird circus for some reason. Still I don't feel sorry for him and his pictures are crap. As for model looks...pfft.

Hippee · 13/10/2019 23:26

I love Liza Tarbuck. I used to have a colleague that had been to drama school with her and moaned about nepotism, but Liza is funny and intelligent - said colleague was the weakest link in our little work panto (giggled all the time).

Ginger1982 · 13/10/2019 23:39

Totally the parents faults. They could make things easier on their kids. We've been seeing the Beckham kids since they were newborns whereas I don't think I've seen one photo of Adele's son?

Also, some kids of good looking famous parents don't really luck out well in the looks department. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis's daughter's for example.

AthollPlace · 13/10/2019 23:40

Plus it must really suck to have famous beautiful parents and be an average looking teen
Demi Moore’s daughters are a prime example of this. Their mother was stunning but unfortunately they look like their father. The eldest especially has been slated for her lack of looks for her entire life.

ssd · 13/10/2019 23:41

Calista Flockhart's son was touring the same colleges my dd was along with her and Richard Gere.

Isn't she married to Harrison Ford?

edgeofheaven · 14/10/2019 00:03

@LemonPrism look at this Teen Vogue article that says in the headline “Jaden Smith’s dad” and then tell me the younger generation isn’t clearly more familiar with the son!

pallisers · 14/10/2019 00:33

Yes ssd! I obviously blended them together as good looking older men! It was Harrison Ford on the tours.
