You do have a valid point, and I do agree in many ways. But I think many people who come from a very famous family, do actually WANT to do the same. It's in their blood.
Unfortunately, some of them do not have the talent. They may be OK, but don't have the same talent. My mother could put Mary Berry and Prue Leith to shame with her amazing, brilliant baking. I can just about rustle up some chocolate covered rice-krispy cakes. (And my 3 y.o. niece does them better!)
I cannot bake to save my life. Doesn't follow that if one person in the family is talented in any particular field, that everyone who is closely related to them (sibling, offspring, niece, nephew, cousin, grandchild,) is going to be talented too.
But some of them are of course, as I mentioned in my post above (at 14.37.)
Carrie Fisher is a good example. She was a very good actress, and a star in her own right. Ditto Liza Minelli (daughter of Judy Garland.)
There are plenty of people who are famous via their famous family, who are very talented, and very good, and deserve their fame. But there are also plenty of who have little, or no talent, but still seem to be all over TV, in magazines, in newspapers, all over the internet and social media, and generally in everyone's face, trying to convince us how talented they all are.
Brooklyn Beckham is a good example too, of someone who has very famous parents, but fuck-all to offer by way of talent. Not his fault obviously. He probably feels he HAS to try and create a talent or persona as he is the child of David and Victoria, but the poor lad has no talent.
As seasidequayside said, some of them really should try their hand at something else other than 'fame' when they clearly don't have the talent their famous and successful family members have. It's understandable that they want a slice of it too, but you do have to have some talent to make it, and stay successful.
