I did it.
I’m a single mum of 2 young children, I escaped a narcissistic ex, decided to try and gain a career in an area I previously had no experience in or real knowledge of.
It meant undertaking a full time masters degree whilst also working full time hours and today I got my results.

I got a DISTINCTION!!!!

I’m so happy I can’t stop crying (not helped by the fact I’ve drank a lot of red wine to celebrate Grin)

Not boasting but I’m so happy I really wanted to share BlushGrin

Best day of my life. Today is a new start

..posted too soon.

I'm sorting out my application to do a first degree at the age of 50.

Depending on finances, it could be full time on campus or distance learning (the uni offers both for this subject), but I'm aiming to get that degree.

My son is interested in that university for a different subject, could be funny if we're there at the same time.

I remember when I was a teenage boy having this vague concept that women needed us (beyond our DNA contribution.) I mean, my mum was a strong role model but there were so many other influences poisoned by the patriarchy.

Sometimes I read threads on here and think that if a few of them were made required reading for boys they'd be so instructional and necessarily humbling regarding just how 'needed' we are. The displays of strength, courage & as a result - utter joy in the absence of 'us.'

Digressing a bit though - congratulations OP. My partner and I working as a team are completely wiped out at the end of the day once the kids are in bed. You should be insanely proud of your achievements :)
