I did it.
I’m a single mum of 2 young children, I escaped a narcissistic ex, decided to try and gain a career in an area I previously had no experience in or real knowledge of.
It meant undertaking a full time masters degree whilst also working full time hours and today I got my results.

I got a DISTINCTION!!!!

I’m so happy I can’t stop crying (not helped by the fact I’ve drank a lot of red wine to celebrate Grin)

Not boasting but I’m so happy I really wanted to share BlushGrin

Best day of my life. Today is a new start

Whoop whoop!! I was proud enough when I got my degree as a single mum but this is just fab, you deserve every moment of your glory. Make sure you get your graduation photo and have it proudly on the wall!

Now THIS is why I love MN. A complete stranger has absolutely turned her life around, come through difficult situations and we're all cheering her on and not tearing her down. So much to be proud of @IfYouWannaComeBack - you are a role model and complete star to your children and you'll be a credit to any employer I have no doubt! Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are amazing and an inspiration! Congratulations 🎉

360eyes · 10/10/2019 09:22

You are not being unreasonable - you have done brilliantly and well done!

Please tell me the secret of doing this while working full time and having 2 kids. I'm currently on maternity leave with 6 month old and a child in school and still cant scrape by a couple of hrs for an online course. DC2 is teething so no sleep either.

Enjoy celebrating and best of luck with the job search 🎉

Dissimilitude · 10/10/2019 09:32

Well done :-)

whyamidoingthis · 10/10/2019 09:37

That's fantastic. Congratulations. And you know what, there's nothing wrong with a bit of justifiable boasting.

I'm a lecturer and we love students like you. Day 1 of my masters class, I'm always delighted if I see a few more mature faces. They are generally focused and hard working. They really up the standard of the class in terms of work ethic, participation and enthusiasm.

So not only have you achieved this for yourself, you have also, probably unknowingly, helped a load of younger students too just by being there.

SugarAndSpice24 · 10/10/2019 09:38

You go girl!!!Congratulations!Your kids will look up to you as their role model and what a great role model you are too!
