Person A says that when you fold the ironing board and stand it up, the iron plate goes at the bottom.

Person B says that the iron plate goes at the top.
Who is right?

YABU - A
YANBU - B

B for me.
But why is it worthy of an 'argument'?
Who cares?

Mine is an extra large one and it has to go at the bottom otherwise it won't go back on its hook

I have never considered which way up it goes, I just chuck it in the cupboard (on the very rare occasions it's used!). It doesn't matter, surely?

palahvah · 07/10/2019 09:39

Plate at the bottom because otherwise the nose bit of the board is closer to the floor and I worry it will get mucky

DGRossetti · 07/10/2019 09:52

If it's freestanding plate at bottom.

If it's hanging on a ironing board hook (was a thing growing up) either way, really, but iron plate topmost looks nicer.

Pleased to have cleared that up Grin

I've just bought a new ironing board, and that's what the blurb says.
