Person A says that when you fold the ironing board and stand it up, the iron plate goes at the bottom.

Person B says that the iron plate goes at the top.
Who is right?

YABU - A
YANBU - B

B - iron plate at the top.

VenusTiger · 07/10/2019 00:26

Depends on the freakin ironing board (legs stick out more so one end so plate at top on mine) and depends who does the ironing, so C and D

Person A is my husband. I'm person B.

He's unimpressed that I am being proved right. Made me promise when I posted this that I would put the ironing board his way if he was proved right. He wouldn't believe me, and I've been telling him for months that my way is the correct way.

Person b is correct. It's easier to hang up that way. Infact in my hanger it's the oy way.

Drogosnextwife · 07/10/2019 00:36

Have you considered divorce? Sounds like the tip of the ice berg Wink

highheelsandbobblehats · 07/10/2019 00:36

Votes are A - 7 and B - 22 so far. He's not happy and apparently we're all wrong.

His logic is that the plate is heavier so it should go at the bottom from a safety point of view. Whilst I can't fault that logic, I still maintain the proper way is it at the top.

Top. We hang it up in a cupboard - ironing plate upwards, legs "dangling".

highheelsandbobblehats · 07/10/2019 00:37

Ha! 24 to B now.

highheelsandbobblehats · 07/10/2019 00:38

Mine hangs from a hook at.the top...the top being where the plate is Wink

Not seen one stood on it's plate, how weird! Confused

Or my ironing board would never be able to be hung up

notangelinajolie · 07/10/2019 00:47

B Top.

If it helps my DH puts the ironing board back upside down too.

He also puts knives and forks upside down in the drawer and glasses upside down in the cupboard Angry

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 07/10/2019 00:47

Another vote for B here!

Toodlesdeary · 07/10/2019 00:51

Plate at the top. That’s how they would usually hang up and it’s also how they are sold. As in, when you see them for sale the plate is at the top.
