Treaclepie19 · 06/10/2019 14:57

Cleaning, tidying, cooking, playing spyro on the switch with my 4yo 😊

m0therofdragons · 06/10/2019 15:00

@Verystressednurse
I've got loads of housework to do but zero motivation to do anything. Feeling depressed to be honest

Pick one task and make yourself do it then you'll at least feel like you're going in the right direction, no matter how tiny the task. I like to write a list when I'm lacking motivation.

I just did a really lame, short, slow "run" - 18mins before I gave up but that's 18 minutes more than I planned so I guess that's okay. Now I'm dripping with sweat - I don't sweat like this after a longer faster run so what on earth?!

Jocasta2018 · 06/10/2019 15:03

Cleaning the silver & brass ornaments then going to the cinema!

Greatnorthwoods · 06/10/2019 15:03

Installing a gas fireplace, as a backup to our heating.

SherbetSaucer · 06/10/2019 15:08

Sitting about in PJs watching movies and playing video games!

Xenia · 06/10/2019 15:11

Got up about 7am.
Did last 3 bills to clients and emailed those.
Did a piece of advice for a client who has a meeting tomorrow so they needed it over the weekend.
I am going a kind of spring cleaning of the whole house started upstairs after the twins went back to university and now I am downstairs. I am doing roughly a room a day including windows inside and out and inside and outside paintwork - just cleaned (not painted). So today I finished the biggest living room which was mostly around the baby grand piano involving a lot of climbing under it and getting ladders at the side of it (as I am doing up high in each room too). I ordered a picture for that room too and now it's finished so my office will be next.

Took some old photos upstairs - part of a big job of scanning old photos etc. That bit of the job is finished now so that was quite a moment. I started going through files in my office too and got up letter B - sorting out home files, scanning old stuff which I might to save and that kind of thing. I have done about 1 of 8 drawers so at least that is started.

Went outside in the fairly hot sun to do my tiny number of yoga stretches and rest in the sun although it seemed to go behind clouds so came in. Called on of my children - I spoke to his twin yesterday but today's one wasn't around.
Went to supermarket for a few bits and pieces of food. Had dishwasher on. Emptied it. Dusted side shelf in office. Watched a programme.

Started updating some sections of a book which I get paid to update. I need to finish it today or tomorrow so will get back on it soon. Dealt with a work email.

It is amazing how much you can get done when your children go to university! You suddenly get 1000x more time.

belleandbete · 06/10/2019 15:12

Various kids sporting activities/ birthday parties etc- DH will probably handle all that while I look after baby DS3. Trying to decide whether to take him with me and have a day out in town/go to a gallery etc. So exhausted from a year of broken sleep and 5am starts that I'm tempted to just stay home and do nothing but I know I'll feel better if we get out and do something productive

CremeEggThief · 06/10/2019 15:12

I got up at 11 and had croissants and coffee for breakfast. Then I cleared the drainer, washed up, vacuumed downstairs and put away the last of the clean laundry I did yesterday. Then I went out in the rain to get cash out for the week and a few things in Aldi; I walked there and back, about a mile each way. I had Covent Garden soup and bread and an apple for lunch, after getting changed into dry pyjama bottoms and bed socks. I'm now on the sofa under a blanket and deciding whether to get up and make a cup of tea and read, or have a wee snooze first. All I need to do later is 'cook' dinner (readymade vegetarian Kievs, chilled mash and frozen green vegetables) and wash up, probably about 7 or so, when DS comes back. I love rainy, lazy Sundays!

NorthBich · 06/10/2019 15:59

Cleaning/laundry/ironing
Prepping and cooking a roast
Jetwashing the gardens (if it decides to stop raining)
Ordering paint and wallpaper ready to decorate next weekend
Waiting for deliveries of things I don't remember ordering

I have already ordered the weekly shop for tomorrow morning along with a new vacuum and a carpet cleaner, I have made a wish list on Argos for Christmas presents, I have walked the dog, and I've cleaned the pram, and spent lots of time on MN.

BecomesHelen · 06/10/2019 16:12

Not a lot today tbh.

Cleaned kitchen
2 loads of washing
2 short walks
Playing with smallest two dc
Online shop and meal plan
Cooking dinner

Borderline85 · 06/10/2019 16:21

Just spent the last three hours meal prepping my breakfast lunch and dinners for the week. So all I have to do during week is bang the hubby and kids teas together ... They won't eat my 'rabbit food' lol. Time to chill out in front of the TV now

Borderline85 · 06/10/2019 16:49

@Cleverplayonwords ... Well there's that too 😜

OkayGo · 06/10/2019 16:50

It's my birthday tomorrow so dh, dd and I are staying in a nice hotel and getting dinner.

Downside is I have a stinking cold.

Fairydust26 · 06/10/2019 17:08

May of spent the whole day on the sofa shamelessly watching the real housewives but the house work must be done. I’ll do it after this ep I promise!😂

movecloser · 06/10/2019 17:10

@BuildBuildings thank you, I had a long chat with my best friend and am feeling better. Hope your journey is ok tomorrow. No periods here due to Mirena coil - it's a godsend!

Shoxfordian · 06/10/2019 17:13

Been out for lunch with dh's friends, was good but so many small children. The noise!

Playing sonic on the ps4 now and having a gin

bloodywhitecat · 06/10/2019 17:26

It peed down all day so we went muddy puddle jumping, two old fogies and a two and three quarters year old. I think it is the first time she's ever been.

To ask what you're doing today?
YaySeptember · 06/10/2019 17:51

I've spent what feels like the whole day doing housework and shopping. I've cooked once, have to cook again soon and then sort the dc out for bedtime. I want to sit down with my book or my knitting but I can't Sad

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/10/2019 18:26

OH is out for the day, so I have done some shopping, baked a cake (from this recipe www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1967/blackberry-and-apple-loaf which is utterly delicious and somehow manages to be not too sweet) for pudding tonight, ironed some pillow-cases because I like them flat against my face, knitted 14 rounds of a Norwegian stranded sweater (winter is coming and I get horribly cold) and got supper ready -- macaroni-cheese-with-tuna pasta-bake because it can be ready easily whenever he gets in, as soon as the broccoli we will have with it is cooked.

And I am feeling Dead Smug about having actually done anything at all, so there! What I really wanted to do was stay warm in bed and not-really-read a book.

Lolly34h · 06/10/2019 18:46

I've cleaned the kitchen food cupboards out. Made a lasagne from scratch with garlic bread for lunch. Made 2 loaves of bread in the bread maker. And had a lazy soak in the bath while ds 14 watched Merlin and the dd 20 months napped. Now its bath time for the little one and then at least 2 hours of degree work time!!

nearlynermal · 06/10/2019 18:52

Am stood at baggage reclaim after a journey that started on a small island at 10pm last night london time. I will be coming home to a broken boiler...
