To think it a waste if you don’t get up fairly early on holiday

Say around 8-9

As if you want to lay in bed till 11 might as well have a few days at home !

Yoh are spot on OP!! Healthy adults who voluntarily sleep in past 8am confuse me. What a waste of life!

What a waste of life!

Why waste it worrying about how other people divide up their days?

HerRoyalNotness · 03/10/2019 22:30

I’m with you. The last time we were in the Uk there was not only late sleeping but full English breakfasts not finishing up until lunch!!! I was fuming every day, and DH was like what’s your problem. Errrr we barely ever get a holiday and I want to go for walks and go to the beach and take the kids fishing etc. Not spend half the day in a house waiting for everyone else to get organised!

Ragwort · 03/10/2019 22:31

I’ve always been a morning person and am quite happy to be up early, out and about, swimming as early as I can .... but I am in bed by 10pm with a good book, night life doesn’t interest me Grin. Luckily the friend I go on holiday with shares my views!

timshelthechoice Why come on AIBU if you don’t want to discuss what being unreasonable is? The Ops point is it is completely baffling to some of us how people want to spend the morning asleep on holiday. I mean at least get up and sleep on the beach or sun lounger.

Others think staying in bed in is perfectly normal. You are supposed to argue you point other wise there is no “unreasonable”

flirtygirl, I'm with you all the way!

I factor sleep, laying in bed time in to my holiday itinerary. I'm retired now but when I was working and had to rise early, that was what I looked forward to most of all. The only exception was if we planned a particular excursion but if time was our own, not up before 10 am usually. That seemed civilised and we still had plenty of time for going out, being on the beach or whatever.

Each to their own though. There's no right or wrong about this.

Tricky to get up at 8 or 9am if you're only rolling in from the club at 5 or 6am. But then I need my sleep Grin
