The cost of the fabric is not the highest expense with couture, the labour is.

The other thing you pay with clothes for is the brand. Angela Kelly isn’t one so the Queen does not pay the mark up she would if she’s used say, McQueen, Dior of R&R.

Actually, on a serious note, if I had to pick one minor thing that offends me most about the rf it would be this bullshit about the queen being “frugal”. One of the richest women in the world and we’re supposed to be impressed by her reusing wrapping paper? Seriously??

What an absolutely charmed life they all have. Not a single money worry in the world, or any job worries. Even these “working” tours they go on, all the hard stuff done for them in advance. Meanwhile the rest of us work work work.

I was just saying she wouldn’t have spent the equivalent of £55k in today’s money on a day dress. Even a really nice, custom day dress. Actually think about it for a minute. Do the maths. Are you seriously suggesting it would have been that expensive?

I’m sure the Queen spends a fortune on horses and art or whatever. But she has a completely different persona from MM. She’s not flash with her fashion. There’s no point drawing comparisons.
