AIBU to be sick of this weather already?!

I didn’t grow up here, so not used to the relentless rain! Although, I’ve lived here over 15 years so I should be! I’m already fed up with all this rain or perhaps it’s the rainy forecast that puts me off more. As it always says rain rain rain all day and sometimes it’s not. But then it makes me feel like it’s raining all day.

For those who are not sick of the rain, what do you love about it?

It didn’t bother me at all before I had children. I guess because I focus so much on them playing outside, getting exercise and also the dog as well, that I get annoyed when it rains! And yes, we go out when it’s raining as well. But it’s just so much nicer and longer outings when it’s dry.

I detest rain...it always seems to rain when I've done my hair, it really ruins days out..it's vile.

I love it - it keeps my dickhead neighbours from drinking in the garden half the night, screeching under my windows

It keeps my garden and allotment happy so I think it's great

Erm... It turns the garden very green.
But yes it's crap!
I don't mind cold & sunny.
But rain is just so boooorrrrjng isn't it 🙄

I hate rain. I've got 5 dc, 2 of whom have problems with continence. I get so behind with the washing when it rains all the time.

I don’t mind rain but it’s mizzled all day here. The worst kind of rain.

Not a fan of rain but I quite like the seasons changing. It was lovely and misty this morning. Before the rain.

God it's pissing down in Dublin. I am sick of it already too.

I love rain.

I love the fresh feel about it and how green the garden is.

I live in Ireland, it rains about 7000 days a year. It makes everything green and my favorite thing is going to sleep to the sound of the rain gently pattering on the roof.

This time of year can be pretty depressing. I can chart the day to day humidity by how big my hair gets 🤣. I blame the storms blowing in from the Atlantic but hopefully it will be better in a month or so.

@Stickybeaksid I remember going to Ireland for the first time with DH to visit his family and it absolutely pissed down for 10 days - I mean I had never seen rain like it. On day 8 I was wandering around the town with DH and his mum and I just started crying. DH’s mum was like WTF It didn’t put me off though and the West of Ireland remains one of my favourite places in the word - luckily we’ve managed to pick the couple of weeks of the year it isn’t raining for visits since 🤣

Rain is fine so long as it is in the middle of the night!

@Yaflamingalah poor you, I often feel sorry for visitors when it’s lashing. Rain is a national pass time or at least talking about it is. My mum will text me to ask me if I saw the rain earlier or to tell me about the rain she had where she lives😂

Also you snuggled up safe in your bed and can hear the rain on the roof! Priceless!!! (Ive sofa surfed for years so this is amazing to me)

I prefer rain to just grey nothing weather

I like going to sleep listening to rain.

I don't like living my day to day life in it.

I do like a rainy sunday, you can stay in all day and not feel guilty.

Ugh it's a joke isn't it! I've been so annoyed this week because of the bloody rain!

On the other hand, watching my dd's face as she was jumping in the puddles has made it worth it! Don't want it to continue all week though 🙄

@Stickybeaksid you know what though, so many people I know have visited Ireland and it’s pissed down most of the time but they have still absolutely adored the place. It’s just that good old Irish charm.

OP I also grew up abroad, and I don’t think you ever get used to the rain once you’ve known what it’s like to have sunshine all year round!
